Is Mitt Romney the conservative real deal because he is very religious & only run to help Americans? SO WRONG
Romney is a former CEO of Bain & Company, "....We work with top management to beat their competitors and generate substantial, lasting financial impact. We look at a business as an integrated, cohesive whole. Bain helps companies find where to make their money, make more of it faster, and sustain its growth longer. We help make the big decisions: on strategy, organization, operations, technology, and mergers & acquisitions. Where appropriate, we work with clients to make it happen - which may mean fundamentally changing the company. Our work is most successful when we work closely with clients who are dissatisfied with the status quo. ..." Offices in China, INDIA, Japan, Korea, Europe, South America... Yes. Romney is okay. Better by hundreds of times of any of the Commie Democrats running. Americans = Their peasants.
2 :
Romney isn't religious, he is a member of the biggest "cult" in the world and is about as fake and materialistic as they come.
3 :
Mitt Romney is bucking to become the big business candidate. More tax breaks for the wealthy, more corporations keeping their profits offshore in (illegal and unsought) shelters. Perhaps he's a "pretty face" but beneath he's a corporate satan.
4 :
Mitt Romney is a hypocrite with no convictions of his own. He adopts the values of the voters to which he is courting and tries to infiltrate their thoughts. He is a chameleon and flip-flopper with no integrity.
5 :
Fred Thompson is going to run.... Goodbye to the rest of them.
6 :
I will be voting based on a candidates stand on illegal aliens. Mitt Romney wants em shipped out, so he's alright in my book!
7 :
Mitt Romney is as phony as most of the rest. A true candidate I hope will run is Fred Thompson. He is "testing the waters"!
8 :
You're working for the Dems, aren't you? Which one? Hillary?

I may not be pro Mitt Romney, but it has nothing to do with the fact that he is a religious Mormon. To all those who have answered, the one thing I can say about this man, religion is not just a front to this man, it is a reality to him, but being from Mass will say it does not effect his governing ways. It's like JFK and his being Catholic, probably way before your time, when people thought if he won the Pope would run our country. As far as his background of being the head of a major company, look back at most of our Presidents and we wouldn't have most of our Presidents, so forget that as a reason for him being a bad president, too many of our presidents have been from big companies, and running the country needs someone with some background, look at Bloomberg in NYC, no political background and has done a better job than a lot of Mayors. I am a democrat, so I have my other reasons why I don't believe in him, but, the reasons don't follow any of the above, get over a lot of your crazy ideas and think with your head.

Heres a good look at their true nature from History. This one happened 150 years ago but I think its still relevant because Mitt Romneys church pardoned a terrorist mass murderer of Americans in 1960 and now Romney is running for President. MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE !! It was September 11, 1857. A wagon train of 160 settlers on their way to California was massacred by a bunch of Mormons dressed in Indian clothes. 17 children under the age of 8 were spared and lived to tell their story. 1st. They dressed as Indians but after five days they changed tactics. 2nd. Then they went a bit away ,dressed back into normal clothes and acted like the Rescue Party who had negotiated a deal with the"Indians". 3rd, Then confiscated all the guns as part of the deal for "saving" the travellers and Mormon dissidents( who were the reason for the attack in the first place). 4th. Took everybody off a mile or so and shot them all. 2 men got away but were eventually tracked down and killed a day or so later. 5th. Took the 17 children they had not killed back with them to Salt Lake City. 6th. Got away with it. After a publicized trial, with the childrens own testimony admitted into the court, only 1 man was convicted and shot, John D. Lee. ( pardoned by Church 1960) It ended up being called the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The first time in U.S. history that U.S. citizens were massacred on U.S. soil by religious wackos. This event is even more significant because the total U.S. population at the time was much smaller.(I dont know the exact numbers, maybe only 30 million or so) In todays numbers it would be around 1400 dead

Mormons believe if you live a good life you become a god when you die. They have secret names so after they die they can find each other. Mormons believe in wearing special underwear with some sacred symbols this saves them from harm. You can be baptized to the Mormon faith after you die so, they have secret ceremonies over people who were not Mormons There IS no Trinity like other people believe. God is God, Jesus is the Son of God and the Holy Ghost is someone else. Apparent dinosaur fossils are the machinations of Satan. He shaped rocks as if they had been bones of past giants to deceive the very elect. At some future, secret time, select priesthood holders will be called to a special, secret meeting to prepare for the imminent return of Christ. Joseph Smith saw God the Father, Jesus Christ, and received dozens of other angelic visits (Moses, Elijah, Peter, James, John, John the Baptist, etc) But in order to "translate" the Book of Mormon, he still needed to resort to magical devices (a kind of 19th century crystal ball) and to wear a breastplate with supernatural powers. That "Men" and men only can perform miracles, and women can only receive these benefits from "Men". Joseph Smith will help Jesus and God judge us at the "Last Judgment", because he is the prophet of our dispensation. and it goes on and on I would be very worried about Romney

Are international drivers licenses a money making scam?

Are international drivers licenses a money making scam?
Rented cars in over 20 countries, never got asked for anything more upon producing my South African drivers license. My wife on the other hand was once denied renting a car, because she could only produce the international license, and not her domestic one. Any similar experiences or ideas on the issue? Maybe it helps in Korea or Russia, where language might really be an issue. But no problems with mine in Spanish, German, French and English speaking countries. Thanks Andy. I tried to qualify the Korean example above. I suppose my real question is, beyond assisting with language barriers, does it serve a purpose in proving legitimicy? I owned a car when living in the UK, produced it when stopped by traffic officers, had insurance, the whole thing...all with my domestic license. I mention that because I know rental companies could not care less if it depended on them. Ours is also issued by the AA, which is our equivalent of what you call the AAA. When I acted ignorant our AA, as did the AA in the UK, assured me it was absolutely necessary. That's why I dared to use the word "scam".

Here in the U.S., you can get an international license from AAA. If you look at the international license, it says it in black letters that it is useless without the accompanying driver's license issued by your country (or state in the U.S.). So it shouldn't be surprising your wife gets denied renting a car. As you renting in foreign country with only your home country's license? That's up to the rental company. They can demand an international license, especially if your license is issued in a foreign language. The fact that you were successful in renting cars with a South African license doesn't mean international license is not useful. You just lucked out that you weren't asked. In any case, it is better to have it than not in case you were asked for it. Also think about that when you rent a car, you are dealing with a private car company. What would happen if you were stopped in South Korea and you can't produce an international license? You would probably get into trouble and ruin your vacation.

Sixteen hour flight and a 2 year old... help!?

Sixteen hour flight and a 2 year old... help!?
I am about to make a flight from South Korea to Atlanta, and I was told that depending on the winds, it could be anywhere from 14 - 16 hours. I have a 2 1/2 year old son who is full of energy, but can sit down and be calm and entertained as long as it's something he's interested in. I was thinking about buying a portable dvd player, because he could watch movies all day if we let him, but it just seems like a waste of money for a one time event. Does anyone have any ideas they can give me to help me get through my flight without having a toddler jumping up and down in the seats, screaming his head off? Thank you so much, and God bless! Yeah, for those of you suggesting that I drug my child... that is not an option. I am willing and able to work with him so that we have a pleasant trip, I just need some ideas. Our usual day consists of going out to a playground or for bike rides, swimming, getting a smoothie, anything that allows us to go out. So sitting in the same spot for 16 hours is going to be a change.

I've been flying internationally and domestically with my children since they were 2 months (now 8&5 and baby number 3 was born 23 December). At least three trips a year are the children and I traveling internationally (14+ hours each way) alone. In addition to that, we do another 8-10 international and domestic flights a year as a family. I have never had any problems with my children on any of the flights (and like you, I don't believe in drugging them either!). Here are a few tips and suggestions: 1.) Make sure to pack plenty of things to entertain your child, such as a few books, toys, a portable DVD player (be sure to bring extra batteries) or let him use your laptop (make sure it's fully charged) with a few movies, and one or two comfort things such as a favorite blankie or stuffed animal. I always bring a small pillow and blanket from home for my children (even now) because I know 100% that they are clean, and my children are accustomed to them. My children like to bring along their own coloring books, a Doodle Pad, their Leap Pads (with a few booklets), and scrap paper that they can make their own drawings with and play games such as tic-tac-toe. My daughter used to like to bring along a doodle bear when she was younger so that she could draw on that as well, and my son likes to bring along some action figures to play with. I found that buying a Rose Art kit is great! It has crayons, markers, coloring books, coloring sheets, and stickers that they can color. It definitely keeps them entertained! You can also play games like pat-a-cake, or I-spy, and tell stories to your children as well. If you tell a story, try to make it an interactive one where your son has a part in it so he stays interested. You might also consider going to the store and letting your child (I let my children start this at the age of one) pick out his own carry on bag and a few inexpensive toys that will be used only once you are on the plane. Be sure to pick out a few toys without him seeing so that he has an extra surprise when he opens his carry on. 2.) Bring Snacks! just add water packets of food, cheerios, goldfish, animal crackers, dried fruit, etc. are great. New regulations also allow you to take beverages (including water) from home as long as they are less than 3oz (100ml), -OR- beverages (including water) of any size that you have purchased from inside the security area onto planes. You can also bring a limited amount of baby food, yogurt, cheese, puddings, etc. with you also as long as they are in containers less than 3oz (100ml) As long as your children are with you, you are able to take as much formula, breast milk, or regular milk that you will need for you child for the duration of the time you will spend in the airport and on the flight (as long as it is within reason). And no, you will NOT have to taste it - no matter what form you bring it in. All that you must do is: 1. Separate the milk from the liquids, gels, and aerosols in your quart-size (1 liter) zip-top bag. 2. Declare you have the items to one of the Security Officers at the security checkpoint. 3. Present these items for additional inspection once reaching the X-ray. These items are subject to additional screening Save your money when it comes to buying water though because the Flight Attendants will provide you with hot or cold water (or any other drink) free at any time that you request, no matter how many times you request it. 3.) Keep your diaper bag well stocked with plenty of wipes, ointments and other essential things. Just remember the new law regulating liquids, gels, and such and pack accordingly. You can usually find travel size baby products in stores and they are wonderful for plane use. One thing I always like to carry with me is hand sanitizer! I always wipe the trays down with that (followed by a baby wipe) and use it for my kids after taking them to the bathroom (even though they wash their hands). I know that airplane bathrooms are not the cleanest, so that is why I try to be vigilant. Be sure to pack 2-3 changes of clothes for your son. You will need this in case he gets sick, spills something on himself, or in case your luggage gets lost. Bring any medications that you might need for your child should he get sick or that he takes regularly. Remember that if they are not prescription medications, the 3oz (100ml) rule applies to them and they must be kept in a clear plastic bag. Try to have your son use the bathroom as close to boarding as possible. This will help to make your child feel fresh and more comfortable for take-off (which could also mean less problems). 4.) Not all children have a problem with the pressure changes in their ears. If yours does however you'll want to know how to help. For take-offs and landings (the WHOLE way up, and starting from the BEGINNING, or TOP of descent), the best ways to alleviate ear pressure are to: *Give him something to drink (milk, water, juice - it doesn't matter) *Give him a pacifier to suck on *Tell him to yawn *Pinch his nostrils shut, have him take a deep breath in through the mouth, then tell him to (gently) blow as if trying to blow his nose *Place hot damp towels (usually like the ones distributed to first and business class before take-off and landing to freshen up with - just ask a flight attendant for them) or paper towels that have been soaked in hot water and wrung out, at the bottom of two paper or styrofoam cups, then hold the cups over the ears *Gently but with some pressure, rub his neck repeatedly from the chin to the base of the neck. This will cause a swallowing motion that will relieve pressure build-up in the ears. You can also try using a decongestant. It is always best to check with your doctor before using any type of medications though, to make sure you are using the one best suited to your childs needs. I personally have found pain relief medications don't really help, and at least in my experience, decongestants are a waste of money. I wrote a small article about flying with children that goes more in-depth, offers tips and tricks for the travel, etc. http://www.angelfire.com/jamiehassen79/flying_children.html If I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me.

can anyone tell me if this article about the end of america is true?

can anyone tell me if this article about the end of america is true?
"In the last few days, it’s become more and more obvious that the country is headed straight for a war with North Korea. There really isn’t much we can do to stop it now, aside from nuking the whole place and calling it a day, which we cannot and should not do. When the United States military began conducting joint military operations with South Korea, it stood as a confirmation that should North Korea act against South Korea (which at this point is inevitable), we’re going to back the South Koreans. That’s great and noble and all, but the fact is that we cannot afford it. We already have such a high debt to China that we’ll never be able to pay it off. Even if we try, we cannot possibly grasp how long it will take. With the way our country is headed, spending money like crazy, we will never pay it off, meaning we owe China and we can’t deliver. Just a few weeks ago, the government announced that it had purchased an additional 600 billion dollars worth of bonds from the Chinese government. This alone serves to weaken the value of the dollar 10% over night, and up to 25-30% within months. This means that if you have $100 in the bank, it’ll be worth $70-75 in a matter of months. When China says no the next time we ask for money, we’re pretty much fucked. If our number one loan source refuses to pay for our wars or problems any longer, where will we turn? Other countries will see that China is refusing and they won’t loan money to us either. Our dollar will be useless, meaning you can’t use it to buy food or clothes or pay for the things you take for granted every single day. We’ll be in a worse position than we were in during the Great Depression. And on top of it all, we’ll still have two wars on our plate. So, at this point, our money is worthless and we can’t pay to fight the nuclear and chemical opposition coming from North Korea. It would make sense that we turn to our allies, right? In case you haven’t heard, Wikileaks released an absolutely MASSIVE collection of documents today regarding the relationships that the United States has with its allies. Earlier this week, the government warned Canada that it would damage relationships with our allies and lead to “countless deaths.” (If we need to warn Canada that they’re going to be angry with us, what are other countries going to think?) Basically, we’ll have no one to back us up, no money, and a country with nuclear weapons (I don’t care what the media says, North Korea has nuclear capabilities) fighting against us. So we turn to the UN, right? Wrong. The Wikileaks documents also reveal that Hillary Clinton ordered U.S. diplomats to spy on UN leaders, meaning they’re going to be less than happy about helping us. (Good job, Hillary.) In essence, America is fucked. We’re going to face rougher times in the next few years than any of us could have even imagined. Our safety is at stake. Our lives are at stake. It’s not only possible, but probable that this could be the end of the United States of America as we know it. I don’t think people understand the magnitude of this situation. It means that we might be looking at the end of an empire. We could be a third-world country in a matter of months. So what do we do? Prepare for it. Know how to survive if everything goes wrong. Think about what you’d need to do if an emergency arises. Most of all, ORDER A PASSPORT THIS WEEK IF YOU DON’T ALREADY HAVE ONE. If you need to make a run for it, you’re going to need a passport to get into a different country. I can’t express the amount of urgency of the situation. America is at a time right now that our country could very easily cease to exist. Please try to understand that and act upon it. I care about you all enough to not want to see anything bad happen to you, but at this point, it’s virtually inevitable. Most of all, prepare yourselves. America is in a bad state of affairs right now it’s not going to get any better any time soon." i really don't know what to think, can anyone tell me if it's true or not?

I think you're assessment of the situation is somewhat accurate unfortunately. It might be a little fatalistic to assume that in 2 months these things will come to pass, but unless a there is a significant change the future looks very bleak. I can't help but get the impression that this war scenario has been in the works for awhile though. When the economy is falling it seems to be the typical response that war is inevitable. (ie ww2) I haven't heard about this Wiki Leaks stuff but it definitely isn't going to be doing our nation any favors.
2 :
Some information may be right but i'd like to know who the author is. I do not think we will ever be a third world nation because we have too many skills and a local and national infrastructure. We have lots of fertile land that would be better after they quit growing one kind of potato and using such heavy doses of pesticides and herbicides. We have plenty of trees, pure water (except for the greed exploits of industry). If we get into a war with N Korea, it'll probably go nuke and you many as well stay put, because we'll all go up in flames. If we go down, unfortunately there will be a lot who'll go down with us. Sounds like a drama queen to me. I'm not running, so I may be the only left. Wow all that purple majesty would be mine - if its not all burnt up.

Should I work in Singapore or Shanghai, China?

Should I work in Singapore or Shanghai, China?
Hello, I am currently working in South Korea as an English Teacher. I was offered a job in Shanghai making 12,000 + housing included and I was offered a job in Singapore making 3,500 + 500(housing). Which one would be better for saving money. I have student loans that I have to pay. Thanks for your help!

Cost of living in Shanghai is a little lower than Singapore and you have more options in China.
2 :
certainly Shanghai as everything in Shanghai r a lot cheaper than Singapore. this is the 2 countries that i travelled a lot there as my mother was borned in SH & we visited there like every year & Singapore, my big sis was migrated there w/ her son so i go there often. Singapore is more like the living standard in HK. and SH definately a lot cheaper on everything unless u always hv to visit those luxury places / restaurants. n if u r teaching Eng in SH. u definately win their respectation a lot.
3 :
i would definately say Shanghai since housing is already included, to get a place anywhere in sh is usually really difficult. im not sure what singapore is like, but trust me when i ssay, you do NOT want to miss out on a place like Shanghai. that all im gonna say
4 :
Stay in Singapore i loved it there. Whenever i go there for holidays i don't want to come back, it's not always about money, you need to like the place too. Also, it is the safest and cleanest country in the world. You'll be better off in Singapore. Why? Great Food! Indian, Chinese, Portuguese etc.. Great Shopping Malls!!!! Another big + Ok Local people!!! Beautiful view of City and feel safe to even walk at 5 in the morning and live your day hehe

Question(s) for Koreans or Korean-Americans regarding racism?

Question(s) for Koreans or Korean-Americans regarding racism?
(I originally posted this question in the "General Cultures and Groups" category, but I'm not getting answers and that category seems like a total joke, anyway.) Over the past few months, I have become very interested in the culture of South Korea. I'm even making plans to save money for a trip there, just to learn about the culture and interact with the people living there as much as possible. So, I have to ask: I've read a lot, recently, about racism in Korea. Apparently, Koreans avoid foreigners. One article I read even said that, if a Korean is forced to work with a foreigner, he will view the foreigner as more of a "tool" than a co-worker. While I am slightly disappointed about this, I don't think racism is something that you can blame someone for. But, I'm wondering how much harder it will be for me to interact with Koreans. Can any Koreans or Korean-Americans provide me with some insight on the subject, and perhaps explain it a little? Or, if any "foreigners" have visited Korea, could you tell me about your experiences? -- On a somewhat related note, how do Koreans feel about homosexuality? Specifically, how would the average Korean react if I told them that I'm homosexual? I'm a little worried about that, as well.

Based on my experience with my Korean friends, and I am interested too... ok. I've heard many things, that they don't like blacks or mexicans (this doesn't go for the whole country, of course.) They do favor white foreigners and it does amaze them when they have interest in the country or know some Korean. Korean males tend to like fit white women.
2 :
Koreans' nationalism is not like German or Russian which are aggressive to other ethnics. They just have tried to unite themselves to defend them from foreign forces. They have racism for sure, and they have flunkeyism on the other hand, They act kind to the white(maybe Americans) but never to those who are from the countries of poverty. Actually the white from the U.S teaching in Korea are getting along with their Korean students or fellows. but the other ethnics from the countries of poverty are not treated justly even more if they are hired in a place like factory, according to the TV news. However, the main reason of avoiding foreginers for most people seems that they are simply shy or feel strange at foreigners, it's not like racism. Plus most Koreans dislike gays, I think. They are even still conservative in issues of sex between male and female. Of course there are gays and lesbians, but they do not act openly. Think, 40 % of Koreans are Christians for now, and overally their cultures have been under Confucianism for hundreds.
3 :
as a foreigner, u tend to feel more like a commodity b/c u speak english and are from an english speaking country. if you've ever worked at a school in korea (usually a hagwon), the owners aren't really parading your teaching skills to parents and potential teachers; they're showcasing where u are from and basically what u look like. its no secret the most sought after type of 'english teacher' in korea is the young, blue eyed, blonde female w/ a north american accent. everyone else is rank and file after that ideal. i never fit that described type (im filipino american) but being there a while, u learn some cues about some of the locals when they are interested more in what u are (a native english speaker) as opposed to who u are as a person. i've learned that once u pick up on things like that and dont dwell on it too much and move on, your time in korea gets better. word of warning. though they may not find it offensive what they did/are doing to u, if u do something similar or make a local lose face...prepare for hell. or mainly just yelling in korean how you're a bad person. as far as homosexuals go, i've met a couple locals who actually think homosexuality is a western thing and doesnt exist in korea. of course, they were also froma small rural town as well. its a real conservative society and if u dont fit in...u will get ostracized. but, in seoul (like in other large cities around the world) there is a gay district (maybe two?) there. one thing to realize when making korean male friends. there is a lot of skinship among males there. i've made a couple male friends, who were straight but had no problems putting their hand on my lower back or arms around me when walking. and males dancing together at a night club isn't frowned upon as being 'gay' as is it is in the states. that stuff isn't my cup of tea but a few things i've encountered while there. try staying in the larger cities if u end up making ur way to korea.
4 :
Okay, I am African American and lived in Korea for 8 years and never in Seoul. Some of what goodgood is true. However, you asked from a non-Koreans point of view and I think goodgoods view is a little slanted. BTW, I also speak, read and write the language as well as attended Yonsei University...one of the top universities in Korea. Koreans aren't so much racist in my experience, but xenophobic. There is a difference. There is not liking you because of your race and then there is avoiding you because they don't know anything about you. It's not the same thing. I personally only encountered true racism (as an African-American I know what that is), only once while living there. You will get stared at in the smaller towns and cities, but don't take it personal. You are different to look at. I was never avoided...especially after I spoke up in their language. As goodgood said, for the most part, they don't want to embarrass themselves around others. I never felt like I was a tool. Although, I always kept in mind that I was in THEIR country and had to respect and be aware of their culture and I am not Korean. I even nearly married a Korean woman. When we broke up, her father was the most upset of all. However, we are all still friends. Even today, I continue to have many friends in Korea after moving back to the US. A Korean friend is a friend for life.

Could I get a job in Japanese television?

Could I get a job in Japanese television?
I am an American. And if it makes a difference, I am white. I am 19. I know little to no Japanese. I would probably be living in South Korea. What is the market that they are looking for? I just wanted to know if I could make some money overseas legally. Thank you. Wow, I am not a complete moron. I can learn Japanese.

You're 19 and speak basically no Japanese. Would you expect the TV company to hire a translator just for you? Your answer, succinctly put, is a resounding NO. NOTE: Nobody said you were a complete moron. We have no idea how far you are along that path. Yes, you could learn Japanese. And, yet once again, the answer is NO. As it is not going to be a happening thing. What part of 'NO' is giving you a problem? EVERYBODY is telling you 'NO'. Go ahead and try. Get back to everybody about how well it works out for you.
2 :
You need a four year degree to work in Japan, and a job offer before you get there. Guess the answer is no. Sorry.
3 :
Im sorry youll be living in south korea, and want to be on a Japan show? I mean you know those are in completely different locations right? No concept of the Japanese language means a most definite no, and to be on a tv you would have to be fluent and know slang not just textbook stuff. Without a Bachlors degree or family relation you cant even make it over there to live long term. Do you have any experience/educational background in media? If not that's putting you even further than the dream. And what kind of audience could a white male 19 year old appeal to in asian homogeneous society? I mean honestly how many Caucasian males do you see on Japanese television unless they have a big celebrity status and even then their only guest stars. If you have none of these requirements you really have nothing to offer for producers.
4 :
why would a japanese company hire you when you live in south korea and dont speak any japanese.. thats like america or whatever hiring a person who only speaks spanish and lives in france

Does the following economic plan look good?

Does the following economic plan look good?
1. Tax Reform * Eliminate Taxes on Dividends and Savings. The basis of capitalism is savings, and Americans who do so should be rewarded. o Pass HJ Res. 23 to encourage savings over consumption. * Repeal the Death Tax. Attacking small businesses and breaking up family farms smothers growth and kills jobs. o Pass H.R. 2734 to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. * Cut Taxes for Working Seniors. Grandmothers and grandfathers working to make ends meet should keep all the fruits of their labor. o Pass H.R. 191 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the inclusion in gross income of Social Security benefits. * Eliminate Taxes on Social Security Benefits. That money belongs to seniors, not the government. Astonishingly irresponsible economics. Don't you realize that our economic system is currently imploding as a result of lack of regulation in capital markets that have been guided by irresponsible profit motives which are now feeding back negatively on the macroeconomy?

Is this true? Regarding export-based economics, and consumer-based?

Is this true? Regarding export-based economics, and consumer-based?
China's economy is growing very fast right now. They're primarily an export-based economy, based on foreign investment. The money China makes goes to build infrastructure. I've noticed South Korea and Japan did the same thing, they relied on exporting based on foreign investment to modernize there country. I have a question though, Is it possible to modernize without being such a heavy manufacturing exporter? So just modernize to a consumer-based economy
Economics - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
no, it is not possible. Consumer-based economy requires infrastructure, and that requires many years of investment. Also, consumer-based economies require values and attitudes that are developed during the manufacturing stage.
2 :
Not clear. You do have to export something in order to buy what you need from the outside world, but what and just how much has been debated. In the case of Japan, it has had to import all of its energy (coal, oil, and natural gas) so it will always have to export more than a country that produces most of its own energy (the U.S. and China) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ja.html On the other hand, Japan did not have all that much foreign investment. Their investment was taken out of domestic savings. There was an attempt to replace reliance on exports with "import substitution" as an explicit development policy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Import_substitution_industrialization Some argued that it worked; others that it failed; others that it was never really tried. Just to complicate matters, many actions can be taken to be either export oriented or domestic oriented. For example, building railroads and other infrastructure makes sense in both contexts; ditto for investing in education; etc. Also, there is no reason one can't follow both paths in parallel. In particular, even the export-oriented countries started out by stressing domestic agriculture reform http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_economic_reform#1978-84 http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/3/48/35543482.pdf This raised both yields and productivity, making more food available (raising living standards, GDP, etc.) and more people to work outside agriculture. (Note that this was true of England too, starting before the industrial revolution: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Agricultural_Revolution ) Neither China nor Japan export food, but it has been argued that if it were not for the agricultural subsidies of the the developed world, sub-Saharan farmers would have a comparative advantage in wheat and some other foodstuffs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agricultural_subsidy#Global_food_prices_and_international_trade http://www.fpif.org/reports/us_foreign_agricultural_policy Exporting foodstuffs would allow local investment to support both exports and modernization without heavy manufacturing. This has already started happening with speciality foods - fresh fruits and vegetables - and flowers for the European markets. http://www.euroasiaindustry.com/page/151/Balancing-the-Cost-of-Food-Miles http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8631439.stm http://allafrica.com/stories/200705080559.html and has always been the case with plantation agriculture: tea, coffee, cocoa, and rubber which the developed countries don't compete with because they can't. Still, eventually, every country is going to need a significant manufacturing sector. Even the U.S., which the world thinks of as an importer of manufactured goods and a service economy, is still the world's largest manufacturer (though only #3 in manufactured exports) at 22% of its $14 trillion GDP And unless local production is competitive with world production, good and cheap enough to export, it will be drain on the local economy. So overall, I think the question isn't binary but only one of stress and short-term tactics. And heavily dependent on the size and natural resources of the country. (Import substitution makes far more sense for a country like Brazil then it does for a country like Haiti; though both could export food, Brazil has more than 10 times Haiti's domestic market.)
3 :
Export oriented policy was developed in Japan. And you are correct that many countries in Asia, including South Korea, the NICs, ASEAN and China have pursued this policy. On the contrary, many countries in South America have pursued import substitution policy or consumer-based economy. And that was not so successful. Foreign reserve derived from export oriented policy can increase economic stability and exchange rate. And it is a drive to build infrastructure for exporting zone and open the country for foreign investment. Moreover, foreign reserve can be used to invest in foreign countries to secure law materials and market for export products. China has the biggest foreign reserve in the world and has pursued investments in many countries such as in Africa for oil. It is the largest investor in Myanmar. Now it is very active to invest in ASEAN, including rubber plantation, paper, cars and bullet train. It's called this kind of development pattern "a flying geese" based on Japanese economist.

Question(s) for Koreans, or Korean-Americans regarding racism?

Question(s) for Koreans, or Korean-Americans regarding racism?
Over the past few months, I have become very interested in the culture of South Korea.

I'm not Korean but racism exist pretty much anywhere, heck I heard that the Japanese are often times racist against Koreans. In Japan they say that no one discriminates against you but that if you do not respect the culture people do get offended. I think things are the same in Korea where you won't get bothered for traveling their but they may dislike you if you don't respect their traditions. I would think it best you don't tell anyone you are homosexual in Korea but you could always check out Korean gay hang outs.

thoughts on communism vs capitalism?

thoughts on communism vs capitalism?
I personally believe that communism is the best government. Many communism countries failed during the cold war because of the idiotic leaders at that time. During stalin's rule, he adopted communism and boosted the economy production of the country by 300% with the 5 year plan. 3 times within 5 years! The growth of the economy during that time was phenomenal. Poor starving farmers suddenly became as rich as a middle class white-collar worker and the economy skyrocketed. Within 40 years, the USSR suddenly became a leading superpower with the most production, economy, and military force the world has even seen. However, after Stalin's death, a corrupt leader took his place and declared many wars against asia which cost more than the country can afford. To add insult to the injury, he build a unfeasible space projects and adopted a ridiculous and impractical 5 year plan, unlike what Stalin did, that bankrupted the country. If someone as smart and clever as Stalin took his place instead, Russia's science, production, economy, healthcare, and education would far exceed the US, China, and japan combined. Infact, many professionals predict that if North korea unites with south korea, their economy and production would exceed the US due to their planned economy and centralized workforce. Additionally, N. korea has many resources but somewhat limited economy due to their massive military and corrupt leader, Kim jong ill. If the koreans decides to unite the country, we will see a new superpower that exceeds the US, China and japan. Additionally, they should pay the workers if they have complete the requirements that the government assigned. Not paying them for slacking off. For example, they should make a rule that says each farmers must collect and give 20 kg of wheat to the government within a months, otherwise they’re pay will be cut by 60%. This way, communist will not slack off and everyone will be truly equal. I believe that this is the way the world should be. On the other hand, capitalism makes people do terrible things like exploting others, destroying nature, slowing technological progress and many more negative things because of their greed. The rich will use their money to make poor people work for them for almost nothing which makes them gain profit. If communism is adopted world wide, I believe that the world will be a much better place. There will be no starvation, economy will sky rocket due to the poor gaining the ability to be able to purchase stuff. The rich will remain rich and the poor will gain more wealth. This way, we will achieve world peace and everyone will be happy. Technological progress will increase exponentially, economy and production will skyrocket and education and health will be a lot better. May communism rule once again.

I agree with you that communism is the better system but like capitalism it is subject to the greed of the decision makers.Theoretically Communism is ideal but practically difficult to administer. However Capitalism has collapsed but governments are trying to cover it over by borrowing to survive.Of course that can't continue for long as everyone knows
6 :
I like China's kind of communism. You know, it has a communist government yet in some cases allowed people to enjoy a lot of things. It totally controls and stabilized the country from severe wars or something like that. If China is not a communist country, let's just say it's a democratic country, I'm afraid that China will not become a leading power if it happened like that because people are given too much freedom and it may happen to rip apart some of China's territory. Communism as government is good. But I don't agree with total communism like what North Korea does. I prefer communist government that gives people freedom and yet they still have the power to stabilize the situation somehow.

I read a book when i was in eighth grade but cant seem to remember the title now, can someone please help?!?
The book was about a North Korean girl trying to flee to south korea with her mother and little brother. Her grandfather had died of sadness after they cut down the tree which he used to meditate under because he was buddist and her mother was catholic. The young girl didnt believe in anything. They used to work in a factory making socks or something but then the factory was dismantled and had nothing else to do and no way of making money to buy food. Her father and brothers were sent off to war and didnt know if they would be coming back. They also lived with their aunt who was later hung in the middle of the town square for trying to flee N. korea. They had to flee because some soldiers were taking away young girls and women which they would sexually assualt and later kill. Its a book that ive been wanting to read again for about 8 years but cant remember the name. I would really appreciate it if someone was able to help me.

Is earning extra income by renting and subletting a second apartment legal for a foreign student?

Is earning extra income by renting and subletting a second apartment legal for a foreign student?
I asked the same question in Law & Ethics. Here is the thing. One of my friends is a foreign student from South Korea. She entered into the States on a Student Visa, and now lives in her apartment in New York, but somehow she has also rented a small three-story building with more than 10 rooms as her "second" apartment, and literally gets cash by subletting each room to other Koreans without creating any sublease contract or paying income tax. As far as I know, she has been doing this kind of business for the past two years. It might be OK for a foreign student to make some money by subletting his/her apartment only for a short period of time, let's say, during the Summer recess or something, in order to pay the rent. However, I believe this is a totally difference case. I'm wondering if it were legal for a foreign student to earn extra income by renting and subletting a second apartment over a long period of time without paying income tax. Thank you

You have the right to do it,, as a person,, but finding a bank to loan you money to buy one would be tough.. In subletting like your friend you have to be careful that your lease will allow it to happen and the landlord is either fully aware of your intention or you are with a landlord that is not hands on. No it is not illegal

Do the English still look down upon the Irish?

Do the English still look down upon the Irish?
I have been to Dublin and Belfast and I have had mixed relations dealing with British people. I grew up with Irish elders who told me about how the English treated the Irish unfairly in the past. My great grandfather worked 16 hours a day some place near Liverpool to make enough money to go to Boston. I think it was a coal mine. It might have been Blackpool. I don't remember.I tried to ask people in Ireland how they felt about the English but then I got this lecture on Irish history but no answer as to what is going on right now between the English and the Irish. I heard a few comments about me not being "a Yank" and not Irish when I was in Ireland because I am an Irish American. I don't understand that. What the heck does that mean? I can remember asking my great grandfather from Sligo what was meant by that Yank comment that I wasn't Irish. He said, thank God, you're an American. And he gave me another Irish history lecture that I didn't really understand but I listened anyway. He died the next week at 97. Do the English still look down upon the Irish as inferior to them? Is that hate over (finally)? Why can't Ireland be one nation with Catholics and Protestants living in harmony like the USA? Why must Ireland be separated like North and South Korea like they are a threat to the world if they were united? In England, the police do not have guns and in Belfast they patrol the streets carrying machine guns. Germany was allowed to unite. Why can't Ireland be one nation once again?

Northern Ireland is Irish land and will always be Irish land.

English still look down on Irish in Britain. America is of the British settlers. British who colonized in the USA discriminated against Irish because of the inferior history of Irish. Because there were plantations, the Irish are know for the ex-slave and Britain still rules Ireland. As a English, I will never release your country ever.

What is a good cheap airline for plane tickets?

What is a good cheap airline for plane tickets?
My friend and i are hoping to make some money for these places (listed) ~London, England-1 month 15 days ~New York-20 days ~Las Angelas, California-2 months ~Paris, France-2 months ~Scottland-1 month- ~Tokyo, Japan-2 months 15 days- ~South Korea (Seoul)-2 months 15 days- I know it depends on what time of the year you go to some of these places, but whatever time is the cheapest, please not the winter time though even if it's the cheapest it doesn't sound very safe.... I live in Washington and i would use the seattle airport to go to all of these places by plane that stops at other airports on the way (just so it's cheaper) you see i'm not the best at buying airline tickets, i am a fan of Alaska airlines but i'm just hoping for a safe and cheap trip^^

Tip: Don't go on weekends, so try and get a flight in the week like a monday or thursday.
2 :
Go to CheapOAir.com. They have the most reasonable prices of any place I have found.
3 :
Check out http://salesshark.webs.com/ It is a site dedicated to finding sales for people there is a banner at the top of the page for cheap plane tickets the banner will take you directly to the site to order your tickets i recently bought two round trip tickets from there that were at least 100$ cheaper than any where else. Good luck and have fun on your trips!
4 :
Most airlines are around the same price, but buying them weekdays should help ALSO, get very late deals, if you book right at the last minute, the price will be very low. My friend once bought a ticket to Dublin, Ireland for just £4.50!
5 :
Alaska airlines would get you to LA but not overseas. Check out travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity. Give as much notice as possible because as flights fill up the price rises. If you wait you until the last minute are taking a chance on high price if the flight is almost full. You'd only get a break last minute if they weren't full, but that's pretty rare. I trust you have a passport because you won't be allowed to board international flight without it. Also if you can be flexible on your dates it may make a difference. Sometimes even just a few days before or after when you hope to travel will have better deals.

how do you think on this (rape, crime in my country)?

how do you think on this (rape, crime in my country)?
(these are latest crime) in south korea, a 12 years old girl is raped by 31 years old man and he forced her to sell sex to other men. he met the girl via Internet chatting and he stolen very small money. but The court sentenced him to 3 years 6 months in prison. and the court sentenced a 20 years old man who murderd an 61 years old Physically Disabled man to 6 years in prison. he murdered the physically disabled man when he was middle school student. he said he murdered him becuz when he was young, the physically disabled man followed and surprised him. he murdered the physically disabled man with other two big brothers (both are 22 years old men). and they beated him to death. and the court sentenced the female mother who murdered her 2 months old female baby who has physical disaility on her face to 3 years in prison becuz the family didn't want her punished (they didn't want to penalize her. my english is not good sorry.. I don't know which sentence is good on it..) and she delivered herself to the police. and some media sympathized with that mother. and some expert said the society in this country tacitly allow to kill baby who has disabilities and people in south korea deny the existence of disabled person but the UN must the person who murdered a baby to over 10 years in prison. very serious and bad crimes are occurring in south korea everyears. but the judgment is very weird. always the rich people and criminals are happy. and the poor and lonely people are super crazy unhappy. and the most of the victims commit suicide everyears. and I saw the news about that the police kicked the chest of female who tried to see the face of criminal who murdered her 9 years old daughter in closed distance. and most of you have to know there is serious corporal punishment in every elementary, middle, high school in south korea. every child and teenage experience the violence at the school. and really many female child and teenage are raped and abused in this country .. there is no a thing to protect the children of poor people. and even I saw that the adults or teenage bullies abused the female child who is poor and the everyone keeps silent becuz the girl has no families and is not rich when I was child. and even I read the news about the 12 years old child is killed by the punishment of the football teacher at the elementary school on this weak. the problem is that the everyone and society thinks the corporal punishment at school is such a common sense. is the money really important than the life of most people ? and I don't understand why other country doesn't care of these serious problem in south korea. why no one saves the life and human right of children in south korea ? the everyone who is living in south korea is psychopath or money-crazy. and they really like to hurt and harass weak, poor people. I saw it really many times the bullies and gangs make teenage or child commit suicide. and really many children and teenage are killed by the teenage bullies. and even some people enslave the poor people and bring the poor people to some island (south korea has really many small islands.) and they work forever in the island. is this a country ? the teenage bullies are such a god in south korea. every schools have the serious teenage bullies or the everyone in the school are all bullies. even if they smoke at the school, the techers never care and even they smoke with the bullies. I saw that even the teachers harass the person with the bullies. they think the poor or weak people are animal or slave. here is no justice for poor people in south korea. other country must take care of the south korea now please.. at least I want to go ouf of this country now.. these news of crime are the tip of an iceberg..

Sorry man, Communism was a dying machine from day one, because the only way to get rich was to steal so everyone did and the system went completely rotten. There is too much waste in a society that rewards theft and doesn't reward work. ...
3 :
in practice communism ignores common man and causes undue suppression. look at the indian State of West Bengal , Communists ruled the State for 34 years . During the latest phase they became the law to themselves like Gestapos
4 :
Communism has failed every single time it has be tried in the past. Like you, each generation thinks if they could only tweak it here or there it would be successful. No offense, but do you really think you're more intelligent than all of the rulers in human history? I don't think so. You mention farmers should only be paid if they produce what the government wants them to. This would absolutely stifle innovation.. nobody would be trying to produce more than what they have been told to produce. There would be no incentive to do so. Also, considering the recent flooding and tornados in the farming regions of the US that have destroyed millions of acres of farmland, what would happen to these farmers under your plan? They can't produce the wheat needed and others would not be producing extra to cover for them because they don't have to. Farmers who couldn't produce would starve due to no fault of their own as would most of the country due to lack of crops. There are many other problems with communism but the major one is removing incentives to prosper and lift yourself out of poverty. Please do some more research.
5 :
Communism looks great on paper but it has failed to produce the utopia that was believed to ensue. To be honest neither are perfect by any means. Look into how many people were executed by your beloved Stalin, and if communism was so peaceful why did the USSR continue going to war? I'm not saying capitalism is perfect but it has advantages as well as communism. There aren't many starving in the USA, the USA has the highest GDP in the world. I can see why you would omit these facts just like the way you blame the collapse on something other than communism. It is very inefficient unless there is the threat of death. I would much rather be poor in a capitalist society than dead for speaking my mind in a communist one.
6 :
The simple physics of Darwinism - you get more of what you reward, less of what you punish. The Marxist credo "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need." ...rewards Need & punishes Ability. Capitalism rewards Ability & punishes Need. Evolution progresses because life naturally strives for superiority. Marxism enforces equality. When you understand these simple principals you understand why Marxism fails every time it's tried. You understand why Marxist countries build fences to keep people in & Capitalists nations build fences to keep people out. America elects a Marxist President & the Economy crashes. It's just physics.

I'm about a year away from getting my BA in P.E. but thats a hard job to get because theres so many teachers in that subject. So now i want to be a Math teacher. Hopefully get my masters but depends on how the money is going. Is it possible for me to finish my P.E. degree, then go for my masters in the Math subject? then be a math teacher? I'm about to get back into school and dont want to waste time or money. and i want a steady job with a lot of time off. So Masters is kind of a must to make good money. And if i do get my math degree is it possible for me to travel to other coutries? my friend has a major in english and just went to south korea and doesnt speak korean lol.. okay well i hope someone has answers to this. or maybe i should try to change my major to something else that makes more money with a good chunk of time off?

Of course its possible, but the question then is, do YOU have the time and money to spend towards more schooling? Its nice having a lot of degrees under your belt, but try and stay focused on one path. Is it going to be PE or Math? Math teachers are more highly wanted though, youre right. I suggest you look at the degree curriculum for the Math degree and find out how long it would take you to attain that degree. Than decide, should I change majors, or double major? Choice is yours. Also, getting a teaching job in korea is easier with an english degree because koreans are crazy to learn english! They always want an english teacher there. You dont even need to know korean, no. But for math, you might want to be able to speak it first :P
2 :
If you have the undergraduate requirements for Math (minimum required coursework) you can do a Master's in Math Education. Check the requirements before you graduate, so you can fit them into your electives.
3 :
You do NOT need an English degree to teach in Korea. I taught in Japan, for example, and all I had was a BA in psychology! In many of the schools overseas, they are just looking for native English speakers.
4 :
It depends, do u want to be a maths teacher? If u do then go for it but if u don't then u can have a whole heap of other choices but it all depends. Do u have good grades in maths, and other subjects what might be needed to be a maths teacher? If u feel as though u want to be a maths teacher, nobody is stopping u.

Do so many Asian women become prostitutes because of their culture?

Do so many Asian women become prostitutes because of their culture?
I saw many prostitutes while I was stationed in South Korea. It is a fact of life in many Korean cities. And South Korea is not even a poor country. When I came back to the United States, I noticed the exact same thing. There are numerous massage parlors. And they make pennies doing this. The "mammasan" (old, asian lady who owns the brothel/massage parlor) gets most of the money. The prostitutes can make more money being waitresses. In Asian culture, are the women encouraged to become prostitutes? I know it's a patriarchal culture. So are the boys encourage to go to college and become computer engineers while the girls are taught to become sex workers?

so your question basically asking if women in Asia are encouraged to become whores, the answer is NO
2 :
if half of asian women are prostitutes then why do so many of them own there own nail shops and shoe stores and work multiple jobs at once. Thats a very racist comment you must have gotten your man tooken by a asian women! And if your not a women then you must of had your girl tooke by an asian girl lol! Either way it goes your comment was very rude.
3 :
you should have asked while you were there
4 :
I don't get the special attention asian women get. Prostitution, human trafficking(mafias began in italy), etc has white origins, also partying. They're the worst when it comes to becoming morally evil. ~Sloanfest, I'd look deeper into that study to see if that is confirmed. If it is statistically significant in some way, I have to say that I am quite disgusted by them, bahah.a.

Based on this article, Asian-American girls have a higher rate of STD than either White women or Asian men. So a high proportion of prostitution may be the reason. http://www.bu.edu/phpbin/news-cms/news/?de...92&id=52827 QUOTE Over the course the study, Hahm unmasked some myths common about Asian Americans. She said, “There’s a perception that Asian Americans in particular aren’t practicing sexually risky behaviors. But we found that Asian American young women are at risk of high STDs. For instance, Asian American women had a higher prevalence of STDs than White women in both 1995 (10.4% vs. 7.7) and 2001 (13.5% vs. 8.3%). The incidence of STDs (not diagnosed with STDs in 1995, but developed STDs in 2001) among Asian American women was also higher than that of White women." Moreover, the power dynamic between genders became immediately clear. Asian American women were four times more likely to have a STD than their male counterparts. “This was shocking,” said Hahm, “It was so much higher than the males.”

Since I'm Asian does that make me one of those many prostitutes? I can't help but be insulted by this question regardless, I want to answer since you said that this was based on your first hand observation. First, you must undertsand that prostitution had been existent since time immemorial. In history, prostitution was once considered an art, think of Cleopatra and Mata Hari. They used their bods to get what they want and they were not Asians. In our culture, the women are NOT encouraged to become prostitutes. Actually, prostitution is DESPISED in Asian countries, but still, prostitution is rampant, and its not about the culture, its SURVIVAL. Even the BIG EIGHT nations has prostitutes. Its become a trade and culture has nothing to do with it. Im a woman and I went to college.

I have a shopper's guilt problem. How can I overcome it?

I have a shopper's guilt problem. How can I overcome it?
I've just moved here from South Korea two years ago for an lucrative job opportunity that allowed me to make more money than I could ever imagine compared to the salary I was making back at home. I usually love to save money, but I do love to spoil myself sometimes with a few luxury goods but not to an excess. It was not until I came here that I was able afford such luxury goods and that is where my problem comes in. I went inside a watch store and I found this beautiful Rolex and I could afford it, though I keep believing that I would feel guilty wearing something so expensive, considering that the money could have went to the poverty stricken people back in my country, the people from my small town. It just brings back so many bad childhood experiences dealing with poverty. How can I overcome this so I can start enjoying my life?

if you can afford it, you deserve it. i too used to have these feelings coming from the ghetto and now making more money than the Pres of the US makes. i don't have these guilt feelings anymore
2 :
You worked hard and honestly for your money, so you shouldn't feel guilty. It's one thing if they had no opportunities like you had, but its another if they had the same opportunities you did and they didn't take advantage of them; in short, just know that you deserve every reward earned through hard work and honesty.

Relationship Decision?

Relationship Decision?
Hi Everyone, I am from Canada and my girlfriend is from Florida. We got together for one year when I went to school in Florida. When I finished my studies I was unable to obtain a work visa and had to move back to Canada. Due to the economy I was unable to get a steady teaching position in education (I'm a teacher) I moved to South Korea. The plan was to be in South Korea for a year and then go through the process of obtaining a fiancee visa. I just got a good job offer that would keep me here in South Korea an extra six months. It's a good opportunity and the money I would make would pay off all of my student debt. The problem is that my girlfriend is having a hard time with the separation and doesn't think she could handle any more time apart. Which I understand, as long distance is difficult. We had a plan for her to come here for a few months but now she is unsure and doesn't want me to be gone any longer. She doesn't want to get attached and then have to go through another 9-12 months of this. She supports me with my career but feels as though I'm putting myself ahead of us as a couple. She told me that if that's what I wanted to do that was fine but that she needs us to have a solid plan or she needs to move on. I view it like I have to get my career started because while my girlfriend is still in school I will be the one who is supporting us and I can't do that with debt and in a job market that is non-existent in my field. I'm putting pressure on myself to do what is necessary for us to be able to be financially independent and have a stable career for myself. She offered to come and teach with me in Taiwan next year, where we could both make good money, as a way to solve the problem of being apart. But I worry that she is doing that more so to be with me and not because it is a goal of hers. I worry that could lead to problems and she isn't aware of that. So basically we have decided to decide on what we are going to do. We'll either have a plan or we'll go our separate ways. I love her very much but I feel as though I won't be able to provide for us unless I am able to build up my work experience and have a steady income. Am I being selfish, placing myself before us as a couple? Or am I being realistic and trying to make sure that we are able to have the stability to make sure our plans are able to come to fruition? Advice? Thanks :)

i think that it is a little of both..but i can see that you are doing it for you and your future with your fiancee...and if it is meant to be then ya will find a way to make it work...i can understand where she is coming from..(at the time he was my boyfriend)my fiancee was over seas in Iraq and it was really hard for me and him...but i just let god in and he got me through it...dont give up!!!
3 :
I don't believe you're being selfish but rather looking at the bigger picture for the both of you..of course the separation will be hard and you will have to endure it for months..but during that time you will be gaining the stability to make your relationship last in the long run.. love takes sacrifice and if the both of you really love each other there is a way to get through it..and she will be willing to deal with the separation

how do you think on these crimes of my country ?

how do you think on these crimes of my country ?
I am not mad. the most people in here think same thing with me. and most people who have many money go out of this country and make child in other country.
