Would massage therapists make a good living in South Korea or Japan?

Would massage therapists make a good living in South Korea or Japan?
I want to be a massage therapist and I also want to either travel around the world or just go to South Korea or Japan. Which country would be better for massage therapists? Like do they make good money in those countries.

massage places are a dime a dozen in asia not to be rude and please excuse me but i do not know how else to say it. the only massage places that make any real money are fronts for prostitution unless it is in a high end place like KLCC in Malaysia or something
2 :
Japan would be better because there are more legit resorts and spas. Most "spas" in Korea are whore houses. Barbershops too.
3 :
There are a lot of legit massage opportunities in Japan. Korea and other Asian locales, more typically front for prostitution. Most Japanese Men would favor American or Japanese women as masseuses. There is a strong national tradition of visits to an Onsen for relaxation and massage. You'd need to speak Japanese to do well in this endeavor. Astrobuf

Do You Think Cho Was Used By His Parents As A Child Sex Slave In South Korea To Gain Money To Come To The U.S?
The family lived in South Korea in 2 room house. He lived there until he was 8 years old. The grandmother said, he acted the same in South Korea even to his mother. Do you think he hated his mother for putting him out as a child sex slave to make enough money to get to the United States?

Wait a minute! Why is the WWE supposedly on the era of PG?

Wait a minute! Why is the WWE supposedly on the era of PG?
After watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGT4n57Wafs & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr_OijkXn7E&feature=related At first I was like yeah this sucks, the WWE used to be better before the era of PG. But once you think about it. The WWE is not even in the era of PG. It's just in the era of boring storylines and boredom wrestling with sucky wrestlers. Okay, maybe not too much like that but it is a bit lame with SOME "superstars" and some stuff it has. But in reality there is still sledgehammers being used (when Triple H is around). There is still chairs being used. There is still Elimination Chambers every year. There is still Money In The Bank matches every year as well. Whenever Mick Foley comes visit he brings his barbed wire bat. There is still real blood. All of this can be traced to violence! So what in the world makes the WWE so PG!? I get it. Before it had way better superstars and awesome storylines. But if you think about it the violence never changed.

1 :
The more mature fanbase has moved on to UFC. The WWE is smartly marketing to the younger demographic, and as they age, the product will become edgier. Same thing as how the 80s/early 90s was very cartoony and corny, then the product became the "Attitude Era".
2 :
Actually, if WWE were in the supposed PG era, we would be getting quality programming. Shocked? You should be. Many people are blind to the fact that WWE was PG long before 2009. During the debut of SmackDown, and throughout most of the Ruthless Aggression Era, SmackDown was a PG rated show. PG: D(drugs) L (language) V (violence). How SmackDown was PG at the time, and PG-14/M during 2004-2009 I'll never know. That was the SD with Stone Cold, The Undertaker, HHH, The Rock, and it was a PG rated program. Sure, Undertaker stopped sacrificing people and kidnapping people, but what did The Rock and Austin do that was so much more different from the Attitude Era? Rock & Austin were still the same Rock & Austin from the Attitude Era, but why was SmackDown a PG rated program and RAW was PG-14+? In reality, the weapon shots have basically become extinct. For some time there have not been: Sledgehammer shots to the head Chair shots to the head (more recently) Barbed wire bats Sledgehammer shots to a downed opponent In the Attitude Era, you wouldn't be shocked or go "OMG! Holy...." to any of these moments, but nowadays they've been removed for safety conditions. Triple H as a face doesn't use weapons well. Why? Because heels can do *anything* with weapons, theoretically. A face is limited to what holds they can use, what weapons they use and the types of weapon shots they can use. Why is this? So they don't seem like a dirty wrestler. What tactic seems more like a heel? --Con-chair-to to an unconscious opponent --A chair shot to a standing opponent Of course, the first option, whereas the latter can be used by both, but a face would seldom use a con-chair-to. PG programming of today is marketed towards kids, therefore they limit the future superstars (Cena, Orton, etc) movesets so little kids can easily remember. Kids most likely don't remember the names, but for Cena they'll remember his common moveset from every match. They'll be talking with a friend, maybe who likes WWE, if so, say, "John Cena does the Attitude Adjustment, the 5 knuckle shuffle, the shoulder hit, the STF and a clothesline". I'm talking about a young kid, say, 7. The most common Cena moves and kids will remember them, and when they see the moves, they will know what moves he's doing. In the PG DLV SmackDown era, it wasn't aimed at kids, but there was something different that made it border PG DLV - PG 14. Possibly due to the lower ratings, or it had "comedic" feuds and was more about the wrestling (it had all the cruiserweights on it, etc). I'm going for the latter, and RAW was all about the drama, and the feuds, SD was the wrestling and comedic angles, not the serious hate angles.
3 :
I agree with everything The Big Red Lord of Darkness said above me, although to say that most children won't remember the names of wrestling moves is a wee bit patronising. For instance; when I was 8 years old I knew the name of every suplex, every throw, every powerbomb, every armlock, every leglock, every slam, every chokehold and pretty much every gimmick maneuver in existance. Then again, I did have (and I've still got) Asperger's Syndrome at the time, and Wrestling was pretty much my primary interest and thus I became fairly obsessive about it.

How much can I get for my Kenwood reciever?

How much can I get for my Kenwood reciever?
I have a 14 year old Kenwood reciever. The model # is KR-A4040, and it's a 1992 model. it has a digital AM/FM tuner, and 4 inputs for a Cassette deck, CD player, a turntable, and also has a video input for a TV or something. it also has outputs for 4 speakers. it's an awesome reciever that's in absolutely mint condition, and has never been handled roughly, and really pumps out the sound. The reason why I wanna sell it is because I need some money, and I was thinking of just selling my Kenwood if i can get enough money for it, and buying a more vintage, cheaper reciever for a much lower price. So how much could I get for my Kenwood? I wanna sell it for a high enough price to make a diecent prophet, but not so high that people are gonna think that I'm ripping them off.

Normally, you wouldn't get nearly enough. but you can make a decent profit off of ebay these days. Your set could retail for about 40 Dollars on there if i were to estimate.
2 :
Put it out on your front lawn and maybe a desperate tweeker would do you a favor and take it off your hands without a disposal fee.
3 :
The 4040 model has a 40 watts output so chances are you won't get to much for it, maybe 20 dollars. Most popular receivers now are 80 watts and greater. I had a Kenwood once , I liked it , good luck :))

So...How would you go about making $2500?
I'm building a graphic design/gaming computer...The only problem is the money, of course. I need roughly $2000 for the main parts, and a few hundred dollars for the drives and just the little things...Here are the specs... MOBO: EVGA P55 SLI 132-LF-E655-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard [$180] CPU: Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80601930 [$290] RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL [$200] GPU: ZOTAC AMP! I like your setup, If i were to change one thing I would get rid of the 32GB solid state drive because it is a lot of money and you really can't fit all that much on it; and I would also get rid of the 1TB Hard drive that is 5400 RPM, and either replace it with a 10,000 RPM 1TB hard drive, or a 7,200 RPM hard drive.
2 :
I would also dump the solid state and upgrade the harddrives from green to black. You can always do the solid state OS thing later on when capacities go up more. As for making money, I wish I knew, I'd be doing it right now, LOL. Get some of your buddies together and make an iPhone/iPad app, sell it on the app store for $0.99, sell 10000 units and split the money. (requires some math and programming aptitude)

Personal checks, traveler’s checks and credit cards cannot be accepted. Tuition and mandatory fees can be paid only during the designated period (Aug. 21 ~ 28). Detailed instructions on how to make a payment will follow by email around mid-August. Failing to pay the tuition during the designated period will result in the cancellation of the admissions offer. I know that they are on the tip my posse from the Bronx is thick and we're real live we walk correctly a lot of suckas would like to forget me but they can't 'cause like a champ I have got a record of knocking out the frauds in a second on the mic I believe that you should get loose I haven't come to tell you I have juice I just produce, create, innovate on a higher level I'll be back but for now just seckle [verse two] I'll play the nine and you play the target you all know my name so I guess I'll just start it or should I say, "Start this" I am an artist of new concepts at their hardest yo, cause I'm a teacher and Scot is a scholar it ain't about money cause we all make dollars that's why I walk with my head up when I hear wack rhymes I get fed up rap is like a set-up a lot of games a lot of suckas with colorful names I'm so-and-so I'm this I'm that huh, but they all just wick-wick-wack I'm not white or red or black I'm brown from the Boogie Down Productions of course our music be thumpin' others say their bad but they're buggin let me tell you somethin' now about hip hop about D-Nice, Melodie, and Scot La Rock I'll get a pen, a pencil, a marker mainly what I write is for the average New Yorker some mc's be talkin' and talkin' tryin' to show how black people are walkin but I don't walk this way to portray or reinforce stereotypes of today like all my brothas eatin' chicken and watermelon talk broken english and drug sellin' see I'm tellin' and teaching real facts now when some act in rap is kind of wack and it lacks creativity and intelligence but they don't care 'cause the company is sellin' it it's my philosophy on the industry don't bother dissin' me or even wish that we'd soften, dilute, or commercialize all our lyrics 'cause it's about time one of y'all hear it first-hand from the intelligent brown man a vegetarian no goat or ham or chicken or turkey or hamburger 'cause to me that's suicide self-murder let us get back to what we call hip hop and what it meant to DJ Scot La Rock... [verse three] How many mc's must get dissed before somebody says, "Don't f*** with Kris!" this is just one style out of many like a piggy bank this is one penny my brother's name is Kenny Kenny Parker my other brother I.C.U. is much darker Boogie Down Productions is made up of teachers the lecture is conducted from the mic into the speaker who gets weaker? the king or the teacher it's not about a salary it's all about reality teachers teach and do the world good kings just rule and most are never understood if you were to rule over a certain industry **** right now would be in misery no one would get along nor sing a song 'cause everyone'd be singing for the king am I wrong?! so yo, what's up it's me again Scot La Rock, KRS, BDP again many people had the nerve to think we would end the trend we're criminal minded and only tend funky, funky, funky, funky, funky hit records no more than four minutes and some seconds the competition checks and checks and keeps checkin' they get the album take it home and start sweatin' why? well it's simple to them it's kind of vital to take KRS-One's title to them I'm like an idol some type of entity in everybody's rhyme they wanna mention me? or rather mention us me or Scot La Rock but they can get bust get robbed, get dropped I don't play around nor do I f*** around and you can tell by the bodies that are left around when some clown jumps up to get beat down broken down to his very last compound see how it sound? a little unrational a lot of mc's like to use the word DRAMATICAL! Fresh for '88 you suckas... You think things will change on its 20th anniversery next year in 2008?

I need som help with my math please.. 52,8:10 4,7:8 i dont know how to makes this on the computer, and i,m not from usa so i speak a different language.. but it says.. 2 3_4 but the 3 and 4 is besides the 2 and 4 is below the 3. 8%of3000 1_6 (the same as before, 6 is below 1) of 120 the interest of 750 kr(danish money) in a year to 4% p.a. is they are proberly easy, but please help.

I am not sure what these numbers are for 52,8:10 ; 4,7:8?? Are they page and problem numbers in your book?? The 2 3_4 would be written as 2 3/4 which means 2 plus 3 divided by 4 or as we say 2 and three fourths. You didn't say what needed to be done with it? 8% of 3000 mean 8/100 of 3000 so we need to multiply 8/100 x 3000 = 24000/100 = 240 1_6 would be 1/6 or as we say one sixth, which means 1 divided by 6. So 1/6 of 120 means we need to multiply 1/6 by 120. 1/6 x 120 = 120/6 = 20 Interest is equal to the principal x rate x time. (the principal is the amount of money) I = P x R x T =750 x 4/100 x 1 = 30kr Of course 4/100 is the same as .04, if you want to use decimals instead of fractions. Merry Christmas

Some guy offered me money to have sex with him. help please!?

Some guy offered me money to have sex with him. help please!?
hey guys, What would you do if some guy (not too good looking / not creepy either)(im 20 and he is 45 i think) offered 100 000 norwegian kr(according to google, that would be 18433 us dollars) to have sex with him. I don't trust him, but at the same time, that is a lot of money and try to be honest with me(and yourself), it is tempting, isn't it? I don't have any problems having sex for this money, i don't know why but i just don't see anything wrong with it. Am i blind? Is there anything i should consider before doing this?? Its my second year in law school and to be honest, sometimes i cant even afford food and have to wait til the next paycheck to buy something i need (books etc), it has been like that since i can remember and he is offering me money that will make me live like a princess for a whole year, i wont have to worry about buying books too late etc, and since i go to a private school(i pay like 7373 dollars only a half semester, I really need the money, but i have never had sex for money before, its scary, is there anything i should know? please help i don't know who to talk about this with (if its relevant to know, he has seen me at work MANY times, that's how i "know" him)

Your numbers must be off because I doubt any man would pay that much for sex and it would be rounded off to 18,000 not 18,433. But hey, if your not insulted by the offer and need to cash then go for it, just be careful and use protection. And make sure he pays cash before you have sex. Nice hips by the way !

They made money by blackmailing someone to post stolen embarrassing video on You Tube. For example: a police officer beating a traffic violator. Unless you have taken a video of an alien landing in your backyard, then that would be another story.
2 :
Make a funny series of shorts and sell merchandises like shirts ect.

what is your opinion of this?

what is your opinion of this?
Here is a REAL INTERVIEW with an illegal Mexican at a protest march in Texas. This is good! Below is a good example of a discussion with a master of circular logic. Don't be logical, don't respect the truth or your adversary, just say what you think makes a new case when the previous case gets too difficult to defend. On the streets of downtown Houston, May 1, 2006. Jim Moore reporting for a Houston TV station: Jim: Juan, I see that you and thousands of other protesters are marching in the streets to demonstrate for your cause. Exactly what is your cause and what do you expect to accomplish by this protest? Juan: We want our rights. We will show you how powerful we are. We will bring Houston to its knees! Jim: What rights? Juan: Our right to live here...legally. Our right to get all the benefits you get. Jim: When did you come to the United States? Juan: Six years ago. I crossed over the border at night with seven other friends. Jim: Why did you come? Juan: For work. I can earn as much in a month as I could in a year in Mexico. Besides, I get free health care, our Mexican children can go to school free, if I lose my job I will get Welfare, and someday I will have the Social Security. Nothing like that in Mexico! Jim: Did you feel badly about breaking our immigration laws when you came? Juan: No! Why should I feel bad? I have a right to be here. I have a right to amnesty. I paid lots of money for my Social Security and Green Cards. Jim: How did you acquire those documents? Juan: From a guy in Dallas. He charged me a lot of money too. Jim: Did you know that those documents were forged? Juan: It is of no matter. I have a right to be here and work. Jim: What is the 'right' you speak of? Juan: The right of all Aliens. It is found in your Constitution. Read it! Jim: I have read it, but I do not remember it saying anything about rights for Aliens. Juan: It is in that part where it says that all men have Alien rights, like the right to pursue happiness. I wasn't happy in Mexico, so I came here. Jim: I think you are referring to the declaration of Independence and that document speaks to unalienable rights .. Not Alien rights. Juan: Whatever. Jim: Since you are demanding to become an American citizen, why then are you carrying a Mexican Flag? Juan: Because I am Mexican. Jim: But you said you want to be given amnesty ... to become a US citizen. Juan: No. This is not what we want. This is our country, a part of Mexico that you Gringos stole from us. We want it returned to its rightful owner. Jim: Juan, you are standing in Texas. After wining the war with Mexico, Texas became a Republic, and later Texans voted to join the USA. It was not stolen from Mexico. Juan: That is a Gringo lie. Texas was stolen So was California, New Mexico and Arizona. It is just like all the other stuff you Gringos steal, like oil and babies. You are a country of thieves. Jim: Babies? You think we steal babies? Juan: Sure. Like from Korea and Vietnam and China. I see them all over the place. You let all these foreigners in, but try to keep us Mexicans out. How is this fair? Jim: So, you really don't want to become an American citizen then. Juan: I just want my rights! Everyone has a right to live, work, and speak their native language wherever and whenever they please. That's another thing we demand. All signs and official documents should be in Spanish . Teachers must teach in Spanish. Soon, more people here in Houston will speak Spanish than English. It is our right! Jim: If I were to cross over the border into Mexico without proper documentation, what rights would I have there? Juan: None. You would probably go to jail, but that's different. Jim: How is it different? You said everyone has the right to live wherever they please. Juan: You Gringos are a bunch of land grabbing thieves. Now you want Mexico too? Mexico has its rights. You Gringos have no rights in Mexico. Why would you want to go there anyway? There is no free medical service, schools, or welfare there for foreigners such as you. You cannot even own land in my country. Stay in the country of your birth. Jim: I can see that there is no way that we can agree on this issue. Thank you for your comments. Juan: Viva Mexico!

This is just wrong. None of this is true, and even the media organizations that supposedly aired this are saying it isn't real. check your facts before you post or forward things.
2 :
You made this up . An interview would never have gone that way . Juan has no rights and he knows it .
3 :
Enforce the borders and imprison employers who hire illegal aliens.
4 :
This is probably a fake interview. Regardless of that, there is a lot of truth in it. Those who support the illegal immigration do not want to even consider that possibility. The fact is that I personally have heard Mexican talk that way, saying that their purpose is indeed to take back what belongs to them. Sad part is I have heard American Citizens say "so what?" ... I am of Immigrant origin, I arrived from Europe 12 years ago, LEGALLY. I have since learned English, learned and applied the laws of this nation, worked, paid my taxes and assimilated to the way of life. I am today an American Citizen and I reject all illegals. I have no mean to pay for health care because of he cost, i cannot afford having a baby me and my wife want so much, and I am already thinking about how I would pay for college if I was to have a kid. In the meantime, these guys come here and get everything free of charge and multiply by the dozen. The immigration department is flawed to the bone and if there is one organization that needs to be overhauled it is the INS. It is a place of wrong doers who control nothing but the load of immigrants they hire to be clerks. Add to that all these civil rights movements who think it is against human rights to be deported and you get the biggest fiasco this nation is facing. Iraq war, the economy, health care etc is noting compare to what will be the day we see the shift in the southern states.

Should the US Accept IMF intervention?

Should the US Accept IMF intervention?
During the Asian Financial Crisis in the 1990's, the International Monetary Fund injected $20 billion into the South Korean financial market with the expressed warning not to bailout failing banks or businesses. With IMF oversight and financial backing South Korea was able to emerge from its financial crisis, but not without some major overhaul of their government-backed business model. The US now is in deep financial trouble, and what it once told South Korea to do, it is doing the opposite. The US is also running out of money. The IMF and the World Bank, usually assisting Third World Nations and Developing Nations, stand by ready to help, though they will make it clear, bailing out ailing companies is not the long-term solution to problems. Should the US accept IMF and World Bank intervention? If so, will it have to allow certain businesses to fail? Can the new USSRA (United States Socialist Republic of America) afford to privatize profits and socialize losses? http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/17/business/rescue.php http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-brooks18-2008sep18,0,7282720.column

Why do Americans have such a twisted, manipulated view of Socialism?

Why do Americans have such a twisted, manipulated view of Socialism?
I asked the question why Socialist countries are surveyed as the happiest in the world, and I got this response: "So you admit Obama is a Socialist and violating is Oath of office by changing the country? Anyhow, Denmark along with the Netherlands are a Democracy, and Constitutional Monarchy! Here is a CURRENT list of socialist countries and I'm sure they would argue with your uneducated question/statement. The People's Republic of China Cuba North Korea...you can't tell me those people are happy! Vietnam" Okay, This is what I find extremely strange? Because those countries are Communist. I live in Australia, which elected the Australian Labor Party which has it's official ideology is Democratic Socialism. Norway is under the Norwegian Labor Party which also has it's official ideology as Socialism. (It's also the second wealthiest country in the world, after Luxembourg) Spain, Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy, South Africa, Japan, Luxembourg are also under Socialist governments. Along with dozens of other Socialist governments. Communism and Socialism are related, But Communism is an extreme ideology that I don't approve of, and I don't think works at all. But whenever an American thinks of the world socialism, they think of some tyrannical authoratian rule? You can do whatever you want in Australia, you just have to pay higher taxes. I come from a middle/upper-class family, and I very much enjoy my life, I don't directly benefit from Socialism. (except from having better schools, hospitals, roads, healthcare, less income inequality, less poverty and less homeless people) I just believe it's ridiculous that people can make $45,000,000 a year sitting behind a desk in some corporation. Whilst some people don't even have a bed to sleep in. And im not saying people shouldnt be allowed to make $45,000,000. They should just be taxed far higher and that money should be distributed to those who have none. And Socialism doesnt make people lazy, Australias unemployment rate is half that of the USA. So you can't say Socialism makes people lazy and leech off welfare, it just helps close the gap between the extremely wealthy and the extremely poor. And, since almost every country is socialist now. There are very poor socialist countries (Venuzuela), and the two richest countries in the world are also socialist (Norway, Luxembourg). So I dont think it has much to do with overall wealth, more so of just how that wealth is distributed within that society. _____________________ The United States has one of the widest rich-poor gaps of any high-income nation today, and that gap continues to grow. In recent times, some prominent economists including Alan Greenspan have warned that the widening rich-poor gap in the U.S. population is a problem that could undermine and destabilize the country's economy and standard of living stating that "The income gap between the rich and the rest of the US population has become so wide, and is growing so fast, that it might eventually threaten the stability of democratic capitalism itself". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_of_living_in_the_United_States

16 :
While I certainly agree with most of your claims. I am not a wide socialist in that view. I don't like the wealthy upper classes being in command while the poorer classes suffer. But I don't like the government in all our private lives and that tends to happen in Socialism. Also I don't believe in giving money to people who are poor simply because they refuse to work. If someone say has been laid off and is actively seeking work then sure he can file for monetary help. But some socialist theology is everyone get wealthy and do no work. I firmly believe in work for what you get and have a strong work ethic while enjoying freedom from big government. Again many Socialist theology I agree with, I just don't believe in government everyone and giving out money to everyone even if they don't work for anything.
17 :
Socialism is an economic and/or social system. Communism/Democracy/Monarchy/Republic/etc. is a governmental system. Most of Europe is Socialist-Capitalist. Their economic drivers are Capitalist. Their Social systems are Socialist. The US is a Capitalist society with a Constitutional Republic as a government system. Different countries have different ways of doing things. Trying to compare a country like the US with say, France is ridiculous. The sheer difference in population diversity in the US, combined with the numbers of citizens is so vastly different. Not to mention the massive amounts of money we spend on things like defense that many of those other countries just don't have to. Tell me, what's Norway's Army been doing lately? Or Luxembourg's? Trying to compare the US with any other country is impossible. The best way to compare it would be to say, take all of Europe and add in North Africa and half of the Middle East. And then come up with a system of functioning. GO!
18 :
Well you've got to remember that the American public at large is rather ignorant, in the 50's and the 60's we had "better red then dead" slogans and we've been bred to see things in a certain way, unfortunately with the Red-neck right wing the minute you talk about "sharing" or "spreading the wealth" to help less fortunate of course! They will scrounge what they can from there voter base and attempt to stop anything that would help people in bad economic situations, and sadly enough its all older white men, but i digress, back to socialism, the system itself for socialism is quite effective if you look at other social countries such as you've noted, unfortunately most americans fail to see this and will cling to older beliefs in an attempt to stop any form of change, also i might add that people from the european (and in your case based from Britain) countries you've got more a lean toward what we americans would refer to as "liberal" and the "left" even the most "Conservative" from Britain and australia would be either leaning left or "liberal" in the US, we have this foolish voter base of ignorant Christians and Red-necks who want things to stay the way they are even when they are inherently broken! One thing id love to mention i show the right wing spouts "SOCIALISM!!!! OMG!!!" like its a plague or something, Obama is in-fact somewhat close to socialistic in ideology, but this IS NOT a bad thing!!!! most people just don't get it, as long as the government is regulated to within certain rights and taxes are a bit higher, does that truly matter if your supplied with health care? and people being helped by the government to have better lives? I understand the fears of "1984" which have been brought up in many circumstances, but this does not make it true, most the things we hear about in america when the media refers to countries with "socialized medicine" is bullshit that the Right wing happens to push.
19 :
Why do socialists demand access to everything and accept responsibility for nothing? You say that you are from a relatively wealthy stratum of society. Your words would be more impressive if you'd been born in a ghetto and become a successful professional. You are what people call a "champagne socialist." Tony Blair and Anthony Wedgwood Benn of the British Labour Party were too. If one has no fear of losing ones own security, one can afford to be magnanimous toward "the poor." Working people, who suffer from taxation, are acutely aware of neighbours who live off the dole. That is why conservatism is by no means limited to the upper classes, and that is why Margaret Thatcher was so successful. Lastly, socialism is closely identified with trade unionism - an institution that long ago had validity but today is no more than legalized extortion. In reality, Unions are corporations in the advocacy business and whatever gains they make for their members, they always make greater gains for themselves. Other than that, I think socialism is just peachy.
20 :
Socialism and its nastier sister Communism have never been successful anywhere. ONLY a Market based Economy-capitalism(where there's incentive to develop and take risks...) with limited government intervention such as the USA have been successful. The USA, contrary popular belief is NOT a Democracy, but is in fact a Constitutional Republic. Let's get back to the Constitution specifically, the 10th Amendment on clarity on how Obama and botox woman overstepped the amendment and created Tyranny of The Majority.
21 :
Hard facts about the EU vs USA http://www.timbro.se/bokhandel/pdf/9175665646.pdf The Sweden Myth http://mises.org/daily/2259 Those are the facts. “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Winston Churchill
22 :
As some others have pointed out, the USA has been a capitalist hegemony since the early 90's, and ceaseless anti-socialist propaganda has removed almost all traces of political openness from the public opinion. Your average american believes that capitalism is the only pure form of government economy, and associates socialism with communism and fascism.
23 :
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money. -- Margaret Thatcher It would be nice if you linked to your study, b/c its diff to know where your data comes from. But here is one study that says happiness is based upon, "Family, social and community networks that bring joy to one's life." (According to 2005 editorial, in the British Medical Journal authored by Dr. Tony Delamothe). http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/05/world-happiest-places-lifestyle-travel-world-happiest.html The other thing that makes this study suspect is that it was done by the UN. But in the US, there are about 1.2 million births every year to unwed mothers. That is a hard life, and I would like to know what it is in other countries. But I don't think the mothers of the 1.2 million per year would be really happy after a year of so.http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/data-reports/congress/tanft51.htm So you can see there has been a breakdown in the family unit (due to liberal policies, like welfare, etc.). The gov encourages childbirth by paying for it. Perhaps those are the unhappy people? Also, with US unemployment over 10%, lots of unhappy people there too. As for socialism, the basic issue is who do you want in charge of your life, you or the government. "It is man versus the state, or: individual rights versus totalitarian government -- which means: capitalism versus socialism." Ayn Rand The Founders of the US & authors of the Constitution, feared centralized government because it takes the power away from the states, and once gone, is just about impossible to get back. George Washington said "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master." That is a view many people share, and we are experiencing the truth of it today. Barry and the democrat party are governing by force. The majority of the people did not want the health-care bill, but they got it. We got central planning, and had a totalitarian solution. Socialism, at work from the US Congress. (There will be hell to pay this Nov when we have elections for congress.) "[T]he States can best govern our home concerns and the general government our foreign ones. I wish, therefore...never to see all offices transferred to Washington, where, further withdrawn from the eyes of the people, they may more secretly be bought and sold at market." -- Thomas Jefferson, author of Declaration of Independence, our founding document. If you are happy that is good. We should all be free to choose how we live, and the maximum amount of freedom to do that is capitalism.

One of your own -- Rupert bloody Murdoch -- has about 99% to do with this. There's a lot of right wing lies and propaganda passing for news. People are deliberately misinformed.
25 :
The answer is simple. The political right in America needs to ADMIT there is a problem with wealth distribution in America. Like a drug addict or an alcoholic, they need to ADMIT that the market, when left alone, does EXACTLY what Karl Marx said it would. It creates monopoly power in just a few. Once admitted, the solution needs to be something other than social transfer payments. They need to influence the market to distribute fairly. One way would be to give tax incentives to companies to pay DOMESTIC employees more, and stop OUTSOURCING. There are other ways. But will our democracy ever get this right? Friends, after what we've seen over the last decade, I think the answer is clear. No way.

What do Americans, and illegal aliens think of this?

What do Americans, and illegal aliens think of this?
Here is a REAL INTERVIEW with an illegal Mexican at a protest march in Texas. Juan: Our right to live here legally. I have a right to amnesty I paid lots of money for my Social Security and Green Cards. Jim: How did you acquire those documents? Juan: From a guy in Dallas. He charged me a lot of money too. Jim: Did you know that those documents were forged? Juan: It is of no matter. I have a right to be here and work. Jim: What is the "right" you speak of? Jim: But you said you want to be given amnesty to become a US citizen. Texas was stolen. So was California, New Mexico and Arizona It is just like all the other stuff you Gringos steal, like oil and babies. You said everyone has the right to live wherever they please Juan: You Gringos are a bunch of land grabbing thieves. Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the "fray". Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one........ The battle for our secure borders and immigration laws that actually mean something, however, hasn't even begun. It is an illegal alien tactic to call an American a racist just because we want to our immigration laws abided by. The loser who called me a racist, must know more about being one than I do. I welcome legal immigrant's, just not those aliens who come to steal, and break our laws. That isn't love of country, is it?

The language used by "Juan" in this alleged interview transcript is so transparently fake that either "Juan" was an actor who had memorized Republican talking points on immigration or the whole interview simply never happened; that is, this is a fake. I'm voting for "fake"; this is so amateurish that it sounds like it was made by one of the teenage Republican pod people who frequent Yahoo Answers. Nice try, troll.
2 :
What is your point? That there are ignorant illegals coming maybe they can join forces here with our homegrown ignorant know it alls. Surely you must know that not all illegal Mexicans are this ignorant. Further instead of spending so much to keep them out maybe we should work with their government to improve conditions there. If situation reversed I think I might walk the desert to feed my family. We should hold the employers more accountable and make it more expensive after the fines than finding legal immigrants or US citizens to work and then it would stop. If no one hired them here they would not come. As to the economic drain on our social policies we should not allow them to use them. It is that simple. Even so I wonder how much money we get from the illegals who pay social security and never use it in order to work in this country.
3 :
it is time for every American to stand up and defend our country from the invaders that are crossing our borders. and if any one thinks it is not invasion then what would you call 12 million people sneaking in like thieves in the night to disrupt our way of life? make no mistake it is an invasion and since our government won't do anything it is up to us.
4 :
You get idiots everywhere. look at our presidential candidates
5 :
I know illegal aliens, and they don't talk, act, or think like that. They work 14 hour days without food for their families and they hope they can receive amnesty. They respect American rights and they are trying to learn English (and succeeding) so singling out 1 bad apply means -nothing- to any open minded person.
6 :
Are you kidding us? Was thet really real or what? I have seen that attitude but never heard it spoken so directly, so I do find this a little hard to believe. If you have a link please post it I would like to pass this to a few friends because they will get a kick out of it. One of the friends is debating the immigration issue in her college class and this should help to keep it interesting. i will not forward it without a link to give me a way to check it's truth in reporting.
7 :
this has been posted here before....proven that the interview never took place funny you didnt post your sources....reeeeal funny nice try though 8-)
8 :
That about sums it up, sad but true, even it is not a real interview it has all the elements of truth
9 :
I just wonder why the reporter did not "report" Juan to police, so he would get arrested and deported back to Mexico? I would do that in a heart beat...
10 :
Friends----we are being invaded against our will-----the will of the people is quite clear-----we overwhelmingly want our current laws ENFORCED.------we need to pound this into our senators and rep's of the house over and over until they get the idea.....last time this hit the senate floor we kept their switchboards buzzing with faxes and phone calls---------SPEAK OUT.
11 :
I have a friend living in Houston. She says they get even more financial breaks due to the Dream Act. Until the government of USA believes in CITIZENS FIRST, this country won't have anything to brag about. ^
12 :
I don't think this is a real interview (there's no way an illegal is this outspoken and speaks proper English)...but it's a good summary of why illegals should be thrown out.
13 :
What I think: It sounds pretty real to me.
14 :
Well not that I doubt conversations go on like this but... This alleged interview seems made up by someone. The Jim Moore that worked for the Houston station quit working for it in 1999. And they (KHOU-TV) have denied every airing this interview.
15 :
Immigration these days is really a hot topic. We all have opinions, solutions, or simply, don't give a damn. One thing I have to tell you, there is hate and racism growing fast, and your question is proof of that. That conversation is totally fake. I didn't have to read more that five lines to know that.
16 :
Real interview or not, it does seem to represent the attitude of what I've seen and heard for La Raza.etc. They are about to be deported and are clutching at straws to prevent that. It's too bad that not all Americans are ready to hand over the keys to their homes and vehicles, we won't allow such a small faction of illegals to knot up our way of life. I'm more than ready to fight for secure borders and deportation of all illegal invaders.
17 :
Fiction or non-fiction, this seems to sum up the attitude of illegal aliens and their in-your-face you can't stop us rants.
18 :
First of all let me say that my remarks are not aimed at all immigrants to the US. We have some very fine people here from other lands who have come here to make a better life for themselves and their families and I respect them. After all the only true Americans who started life in this country and never left for any foreign shore are the American Indians or Native Americans. All the rest of us are in fact aliens. What angers me is the ones who come here and exercise absolutely no effort to become a part of this great nation. They want food stamps, tax breaks, education for their children, a place to live, a share of the social security, health benefits and freedom to do as they damn well please without paying the ante of learning English, serving this country in the armed forces and paying taxes . I don't know if this interview is real or not and I really don't give a damn. But it does give a good example of the things the real Americans( black, white hispanic, asian, and all others) have to deal with immediately. Strict immigration laws must be passed and enforced and all illegals currently in the US should be deported without prejudice. IMMEDIATELY. Without it our country faces destruction as we know it. I've paid my dues. It's time for those who want to live in this great country to pay theirs.

Whats your position on ACTA?

Whats your position on ACTA?
Heres an excerpt: ACTA is an abbreviation for the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. It is an International Treaty that will be pushed to implementation by 2010. It has been discussed in secret since October 2007, and has been leaked by government officials who were against the unconstitutional, ineffective, inhumane, and unlawful nature of such a treaty. Countries affected by this treaty include but are not limited to: Australia, Canada, the European Union, Japan, The Republic of Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States The official goal of the agreement is the international enforcement of strong intellectual property rights. Some of our concerns include the vague, amorphous manner in which “counterfeit” is used in many of the public comments. These uses run the gamut from undisputedly illegal products to expressly legitimate generic products. We believe that ACTA holds the potential to restrict innovation, consumer choice and freedom on the Internet by it's many restrictions and its changes to the legal front on copyrights. The scope of ACTA includes counterfeit goods, generic medicines, Internet censorship, irrational new downloading laws and what is termed "piracy over the Internet". ACTA is a treaty, which would overcome many court precedents in your own country that defines consumer rights as to "fair use" and would remove any limitations on the application of intellectual property laws. This means that ACTA would overrule any laws in your own country, and deal harsher, unfair and ineffective punishment to anyone suspected of piracy, without a trial in court. If you are just suspected of listening to songs illegally, or uploading anything illegal, you may be dealt with harshly, against the laws of your own country. ACTA also makes Internet Service Providers legally responsible for any of it's users downloaded content. ACTA gives recording industries more rights to enforce copyrights and officers of the law the right to search any digital device for copyrighted material. Did you pay for the songs on your iPod? Under the new law, that instantly classifies you as a criminal, and the same classification as murderers and rapists. You will get a criminal record. Even if you do not download songs onto your iPod, you will feel the effects as millions, possibly billions of dollars in taxpayer's money will be poured in to catch these "criminals", money that can be used to save lives. Part of ACTA deems anyone accused of copyright infringement to "compensate" for the loss in profit to recording companies. They want harsher punishments for these criminals. These recording companies, such as UMG, earn upwards of $1 billion in 2009. However, the RIAA (Recording Industries Association of America) recently sued a 12 year old girl for downloading, as well as many other people. They are seeking $150 000 per song, on allofmp3.com[1]. How much harsher will they go? Isn't there a point where they must stop?

To those of you who oppose health care reform with a vengeance...?

To those of you who oppose health care reform with a vengeance...?
Can you tell me what 'freedoms' or 'rights' you may have lost under this bill? What it has taken away from you on a personal or financial level as of this minute? Did you lose your citizenship status? Did the United States suddenly change its name to "United Soviet Socialist Republic" overnight? Are we now a part of Communist China? North Korea? If it hasn't, what are you deathly afraid of? Progress? Change? Living in the 21st century instead of the 19th? Because what I see is this: You either make too much money or not enough, and yet you *complain* that having health care reform and having to pay for coverage will just make things *worse*! Worse for *who*...? Worse for those whom spent themselves into debt trying to live the high life? Or those of us whom can't budget responsibly and want everyone else to support them out of habit or blind sympathy? If you believe that buying an expensive car, and expensive house, and all the fancy materialistic garbage that clutters and fills your place of residence is more *important* to you than having affordable health care, then why should you be the first in the line to *complain*? After all, you don't *care*. You simply want the money for yourself to do whatever you damn well please! It's not *you* that we are worried about... But that's not a loss of freedoms or rights. When the government proposes legislation that allows them to spy on you without just cause, wiretaps your phones, bugs your computers, and searches your premises without the proper warrants...? *That* is a loss of rights and freedoms! That is fascism! When the government goes against the people for the sake of weeding out whatever "enemy" they think is hiding amongst us, then we have a serious problem that should be openly addressed. But when the government comes along to address an issue that has been plaguing this country for decades...? It's not evil. It's not intruding on your privacy, it's not telling you what to do and how to live, and it certainly is not robbing anyone of their Constitutional rights! What it is doing is getting the people organized and on a plan to better health and affordability. Why would you be against being more healthy and having an affordable insurance plan that offers better coverage than what you have before? For those of us whom can't live within our means, it's going to be a hellish nightmare come to life--including those corporate businesses whom now have to start *paying* more coverage for their work forces. Oh, yes, they are going to go on about how it may bankrupt their precious bottom lines, sap a tenth of their overall profit margins every year, but those of us whom work for these types are going to be a little more secure in the knowledge that Big Business is finally getting put on notice and on the path to greater responsibility for their people; instead of being financially reckless and arrogant. For those of us whom need this kind of reform, we're going to be very happy. We are going to have what we dreamed out! And while the legislation and its 'fixer-bill' companion isn't perfect, it is the right step towards equality for all. Better health care, lower costs, less waiting in the emergency rooms, and no more lapses in coverage or 'droppings'--because we are either sick or have become sick. Thoughts?

amen sister

Read the 10th amendment and try again!!! the amendment can be found under a search of the constitution!!!
6 :
You have lost the freedom to choose not to purchase a product. Now if you do not purchase the product you pay a penalty. Never in this nation's history has the commerce power been used to require a person who does nothing to engage in economic activity. Therefore, no decision of the Supreme Court has ever upheld such a claim of power. Such a regulation of a "class of inactivity" is of a wholly different kind than any at issue in the Court's most expansive interpretations. A mandate to enter into a contract with an insurance company would be the first use of the Commerce Clause to universally mandate an activity by all citizens of the United States. Today, even voting is not constitutionally mandated. But, if this precedent is established, Congress would have the unlimited power to regulate, prohibit, or mandate any or all activities in the United States. Such a doctrine would abolish any limit on federal power and alter the fundamental relationship of the national government to the states and the people. For this reason it is highly doubtful that the Supreme Court will uphold this assertion of power. It goes far beyond "health care". There would be no limit on the power of the Federal government and the people do not need to open that Pandora's box.
7 :
I fully support access to the health care provider of one's choice, but I do not support the structure of this health insurance bill one bit--it violates basic medical ethics and creates punative laws for non-conformists. It violates basic tenents of medical ethics. It violates basic "autonomy" which is supposedly an ethic in all medical professions in the USA. It's falsely constructed--and completely misleads the public as "universal principles". It's completely miscontructed, illogical, unethical and dangerous.
8 :
Thoughts? Backroom deals, deals with big Pharma, deals with unions, deals with lobbyists, deals with congress to win votes. Sorry, but Fascism isn't my idea of a 'good deal' for this country. They should have scrapped it and started over. Is it any wonder that well over half of this country has no faith or trust in our government? Oh, one more fact, for those who use Bush as every single excuse. I'm not a Republican and I'm not a Bushbot.
9 :
what makes you think the care you get will be better? in fact I bet it will be dulled down to quick patch up and off you go waiting times shortened what are you fookin nuts
10 :
I have lost my right to maintain my citizenship without having to purchase a private industry product. Where does it say in the Constitution that my liberty is subject to buying anything from a private company? And since you're obviously quite young, YOU have lost your financial future, and you don't even know it yet. Boohoo for you when you do. I wish I was around to play the violin. You will lose the greatest system of care on the planet. You will sit in much longer lines, much shorter doctor attention, the loss of innovation, the latest drugs, procedures and treatments, and severely rationed care. And all of this is UNAVOIDable, regardless of the thinking points you regurgitate.
11 :
The one big one is that it is . Forcing all the people to get an health care insurance policy Or get fined . And the majority of America lives under the poverty level . Get away from the big city and ya will see how America lives . And ta make every body have a insurance when they don't want it . Is kind of bring the mandatory insurance law to drive a car to a whole new level . American people will be insurance poor . If the car insurance of an 18 year old don't break the bank the health care one will .
12 :
you should save this question till you hit 35........equality for all is a myth...I do not want to pay for you and if you are smart you do not want to pay for me....kiddo,this bill is about population control.......
13 :
Amen.
14 :
I can only speak for myself, but I am against the government telling me what I have to spend my money on. Against them forcing me, by way of fines, to purchase their product, or any other product. That is unconstitutional. If someone has worked hard and has a lot of money, they have the right to spend it on fancy cars and houses. They shouldn't be forced by the government to spend it on what someone else thinks they should spend it on. Whether you agree with how they spend their money or not, it's none of your business, and it certainly is not the government's. “A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.” – Thomas Jefferson
15 :
I lost the right to choose whether or not I should buy a product. not the government is forcing me against my will to buy a product that I don't want. Since when did this become OK. also fyi: what state has a similar program regarding health insurance? I'll give you a hint, it is the same state that has the fast growing health care premiums in the country. Massachusetts, that's right it also cost nearly 4 times more than they projected. now apply that to this national plan & tell me it's a good thing.
16 :
Interesting question, and interesting points as well. I agree with you completely!!! We need Health care reform badly. The Bill is not perfect, it's not great but it is a start. Who would deny that people need help, due to preexisting conditions, lose their insurance when they lose their job, or lose their insurance if they get sick?? I see no compassion at all, and that is not a good thing at all.... Your points are well taken! I could go on and on, but you said it well.......
