My TEFL job fell through and now I am homeless. What do I do?

My TEFL job fell through and now I am homeless. What do I do?
I was booked to go to South Korea for a year starting in mid august. I had arranged a replacement tenant for my room in my house, very nearly quit my job and promised my friends they could loan my stuff for a couple of years whilst I was away, Now, the company who I was going through (naming no names) have pulled the carpet from underneath me and now I am homeless and have no idea what to do. I want to go travelling and teaching was a good opportunity for me to make money and do a bit of travelling at the same time. I still want to go abroad with my girlfriend and work and save money to go proper backpacking afterwards. I also want to be a teacher when I return home so that experience would have been invaluable for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i could do next please? I have looked at other companies doing the same TEFL stuff but have no idea which are reputable and I do not to limit myself to just teaching. If anyone has done something similar and had a good time could you let me know please??? Thanks a lot

I taught abroad in two countries and loved it. I found the jobs I had by networking - a friend of a friend knew of the school or had taught there, etc. I applied directly to the schools and didn't work with recruiters. I actually had offers to teach at several others that I'm sure I would have also loved. If you are friends with internationals in the US, ask them for recommendations. (If you are not, make some friends - it will help you understand the culture better). Teaching is normally the easiest job to find overseas. Once you are there, you might find some offers for acting/working on curriculum, but you'll need to get there first and you'll also have the issue of getting a visa.

Shouldn't Obama's "Social Justice" demand that Rio de Janeiro be awarded the Olympics.?.?

Shouldn't Obama's "Social Justice" demand that Rio de Janeiro be awarded the Olympics.?.?
. South American is the ONLY continent to NEVER be awarded the Olympics. Obama's philosophy is one of Social Justice, NOT Merit, right ?? Shouldn't WE be Redistributing the Wealth to Rio ? 1896Athens, Greece 1900Paris, France 1904St. Louis, United States 1906Athens, Greece 1908London, United Kingdom 1912Stockholm, Sweden 1916Originally awarded to Berlin, cancelled because of World War I 1920Antwerp, Belgium 1924Paris, France 1928Amsterdam, Netherlands 1932Los Angeles, United States 1936Berlin, Germany 1940Originally awarded to Tokyo, then awarded to Helsinki, cancelled because of World War II 1944Originally awarded to London, cancelled because of World War II 1948London, United Kingdom 1952Helsinki, Finland 1956Melbourne, Australia Stockholm, Sweden 1960Rome, Italy 1964Tokyo, Japan 1968Mexico City, Mexico 1972Munich, West Germany 1976Montreal, Canada 1980Moscow, Soviet Union 1984Los Angeles, United States 1988Seoul, South Korea 1992Barcelona, Spain 1996Atlanta, United States 2000Sydney, Australia 2004Athens, Greece 2008Beijing, China 2012London, United Kingdom 2016Tokyo, Chicago, Madrid, or Rio de Janeiro BQ -- How many of Obama's Cronies, will make money off of the Olympics in Chicago. hmmm... Axelrod's development company, are doing the construction. Valerie Jarrett Lobbied for the Chicago Olympics ( oh, that cannot be correct -- Obama promised not to hire Lobbyists) ...and President Jarrett, gave Michelle Obama a Job at the Chicago Hospital, which sent all Uninsured Patients down-the-street to the Community Hospitals. ( because She really cares about people <3 ) BQ2 -- So, who else does Obama owe, for his Rise to Power? . . "I know you're trying to make a point about Obama's whole, "socializing" of things.." No, it is not about "that" -- I think Obama and Chicago Politics are Crooks --and this is all about MONEY in their Pockets and Obama repaying his "debts" Just my opinion. ...and Axelrod will financially benefit. Oh, and I am also a Published Author and Journalist. Gosh -- that's so easy to say !! :) . . "If he hadn't gone over there you people would be screaming and wetting your pants and saying he hates America and he should be doing everything he can to get the games." OMG !! I had know idea I cared that much. I just prefer Rio to Chicago, "Duder."

AHH!!! But his cronies aren't in Rio de Janeiro. He can't pay them off politically if he touts Rio instead of Chicago!
2 :
Let me get this straight. You would rather see jobs go to Rio than the Mid-West region of our own country. Wow, this is very typical of the conservative right in this country. Now you guys want to outsource the Olympic jobs that would help recover our nations economy and get people back to work. Way to go with that patriotism (to Brazil that is). BTW, name one Obama 'cronie' in Chicago that would profit off this. Considering the fact that Utah turned a 56 million dollar profit after everything was paid for from the 2002 Winter Olympics, I think Obama's lobbying efforts in Denmark are to be applauded. This would be a huge boom to the area, not just Chicago but surrounding states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa and Indiana as well. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4191/is_20020425/ai_n10002200/

I was kind of wondering why it is Ok for him to meddle in this case. *
5 :
absolutely. They too should have the opportunity to go into massive debt for the olympic games.... - disease, no president has ever so groveled before.... and if he gets it, how can it possibly look like anything but improper political pressure?
6 :
If he hadn't gone over there you people would be screaming and wetting your pants and saying he hates America and he should be doing everything he can to get the games.
7 :
Interesting. And how many of those cities went into massive debit trying to fund the Olympics while the pet contractors made zillions.
8 :
Chicago was awarded the Olympics in 1904, but that year the St. Louis leaders who put together the World Fair in their city convinced the U.S. and International Olympic Committees to move the event to St. Louis. That was 100 years ago. A major study done by a California university revealed that a Chicago Olympics would provide a minimum of $44 billion of investment and economic recovery to one of America's most depressed cities, badly in need of private development. In addition, the entire Great lakes region would benefit with billions of dollars worth of increased tourism and related growth. It makes no economic sense not to pursue this goal of a Chicago Olympics and opponents would be labelling the president as derelict in his duties if he ignored it. Some of your information is incorrect, and if you read the Murdoch owned Post or saw the Murdoch-owned Fox News for Malkin's reports on the subject, she only states that Jarret served on the committee to seek Chicago's Olympic bid, which is not a lobbying firm, she was employed by the city of Chicago - big difference. Alexrod's public relations firm AKPD did some preliminary work for the committee's efforts, being the largest Chicago PR firm, which makes sense. This was before Obama even announced running for the presidency. However, there is no current or future contract for AKPD or anyone else, and any future Olympics PR contract, should Chicago be named, would be awarded by the International Olympic Committee, not the city of Chicago. If you must rant, at least get your facts straight. You lose all credibility and people will just ignore your future posts, like I plan on doing if you can't be more careful with facts in the future.
9 :
"South American is the ONLY continent to NEVER be awarded the Olympics" I am intrigued as to which of those cities you think is in Africa.
10 :
Libby... I know you're trying to make a point about Obama's whole, "socializing" of things... even though it's just fucking healthcare (and we already have shit socialized here anyway)... but to say that he should act as some sort of "socialist ambassador to the world" and try to "distribute" the games to the countries who haven't gotten them yet etc. etc... in order to justify some sort of "socialism standard" you've imposed upon the guy in your own mind... is just b.s., and I have to sit here and deconstruct it (and I do have to)... I don't want to think you have an agenda Libby, but it kind of seems like you do when you post crap like this. Oh, and capitalism doesn't reward "merit" either... it rewards those who have amassed huge amounts of money due to the imperfection of the system (big fat business)... but even if it DID reward merit... then apparently Obama doesn't have this "social justice" philosophy... maybe he actually likes a balance and knows WHEN "social justice" should come into play... ... and you know, "conservatism is a disease" has a point I think, can you really say that you wouldn't be on Obama's case even worse if he wasn't trying to get the games for America? THAT is what will help America; it'll give tons of people jobs... this is Obama's focus: "Heal the economy, get people affordable healthcare so they won't be denied service"... not, "RAAAWWRRR! EVERYTHING MUST BE SOCIALIZED! NOT JUST IN AMERICA BUT AROUND THE WORLD TOO!! FUCK BEING SMART, I HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT RIO GETS THE FUCKING OLYMPICS BECAUSE, YEAH, UHH... THAT WOULD BE ALL SOCIALISMY AND STUFF, AND I MUST LIVE UP TO THE SOCIALIST IMAGE THAT RIGHT WINGERS TRY TO PUT ON ME!! RAHHHH!!!" But anyway, yeah... Obama's got the right idea on the Olympics... HOWEVER: BQ2: You are in fact right in bringing up Obama's owing of money to various places for his rise to power... we'll see how that sways his judgement... I wonder if they'll put a hit on him if he goes against them... I hope he does, but in the future I'd rather Big Business stay the fuck out of campaigns BY LAW so we don't have to worry about this shit. Oh and BQ: I don't know any Obama "cronies" in Chicago... you've got to give evidence for shit like that... I'm not doing hw for you. I know I'm coming off abrasive but... sometimes that's the right response.

Should I join the military?

Should I join the military?
My goals: make money, rank up ( more money ), get educated (future money), and Don't die or get injured. I currently have a diploma from one of the best high schools in the US but I barely graduated. I just wasn't motivated at the time but right now I am. I'm 19 1/2 years old and I'm going nowhere fast, I have no debt and I've saved 7k dollars.. and I live in jacksonville florida, the economy here SUCKS. Its hard to get a job and even when you do its only part time, I currently work at publix. I need guidance I need information, I need to know why the military is going to bring me out of this rut I am in. I'm so stuck because I've lived in this city all my life and I don't know anything else. I'm in great shape though, I'm 160 lbs and I benchpress 240. I'm still not sure whether I should join and which branch I should join. Please give me insight especially if you currently are in the military. I'm thinking Navy AF or Coastgaurd because I don't want to get hurt. But the army was appealing for the bonus( I know people say its nothing but I've got no kids and no debt cash is cash and I know how to keep it) and because I have family in South korea and they said I'd likely be able to get stationed there. I got an 88 on my asvab and I have fantasic vision

"My goals: make money, rank up ( more money ), get educated (future money), and Don't die or get injured." What the hell dude, your goals have nothing to do with the military. make money? the military isn't about money, its ok pay, but not the best, we do it for other reasons. get educated? yes you'll learn life skills, but if you go to college and then grad school, become a surgeon for example, you'll get experience no matter what. dont die or get injured? yea there are other jobs out there in the military that doesnt put you out on the field. BUT your goals above are not the type of goals you need to be a good solider, airman, sailor, or marine
2 :
You have the wrong reasons to join. Just so you know you can die anywhere and anytime. The military can guide you but you still have to get yourself out of your rut. If you weren't motivated in HS how in the hell do you expect to make it in the military. Bonuses are few and far between. South Korea you can go but it is a wish list you may never go at all. I suggest stay civilian and go to college.
3 :
My opinion for joining the military you should have more goals then just makeing money and getting educated yea you can get all that in the military thats no lie even though the pay isn't the best in the world but you get your basic needs taken care of like housing get discounts on things get free medical and other things like that but if you you look this way the getting hurt and and killed that can happen any time of the day not trying to make you think that it will happen but it can if you think that it will only happen in the military your wrong yea it happens but it doesn't only happen in the military if you know what I meanthe economy is bad everywhere it may be worse in other areas but everybody that don't got a job now is haveing trouble trying to get a job and if they do it is something like a minmum wage job the military can make you or break you it just depends on what you want to do as a job and what your interests are so you can pick which branch you want go with but the only person that can decide that is you you are saying that you are in great shape just because you say that you are 160 and can bench 240 but benching won't help you out in the long run when in boot camp because you have to beable to run alot do alot of push ups and sit ups so that don't really mean nothing like for example if you want to go into the Marines you have to pass the ipft which is the initial phsyical fitness test and it consists of 1.5 mile run in 13mins or less 50 sit ups or more in 2mins 2 pull ups and 50 or more push ups in 2mins but if you can't pass that then you have to go into this other training where all the non phsyically fit people go before boot camp to get fit so they can pass the regular pft which consists of a 3mile run in 18mins or less so if you want more information on the other branches like the Air Force Navy Coast Guard Army Marines or any of their reserves parts then just go to their web site or just call a recruiter and they will give you all information you need hopefully that helped if you need anything else jus email me and ill help all I can

Vanga's predictions about World War 3?

Vanga's predictions about World War 3?
I can't believe it. I found info about Vanga in February and she predicted a lot of disasters. Among them, she said that WW3 will begin in November 2010. I used to think: crap, someone is just trying to make money. She said that it will begin after an attempt to murder several important political people (beginning of November, bombing on several embassies) and after battles in "Hindustan" (area where today is south Asia). There were battles against terrorism in India and Pakistan few weeks ago, and today however, South Korea and North Korea are fighting again, and Russia for some reason is building 5,000 nuclear shelters ( http://socioecohistory.wordpress.com/2010/11/13/why-is-russia-building-5000-new-nuclear-bomb-shelters-in-moscow-by-2012/ ) More about her predictions (some of them are crap, such as the thing where laws of Physics change) http://www.theastralworld.com/prophecies/babavanga.php I'm afraid to be honest, I thought that is just nothing but it is becoming truth.

Hello There is often some truth in things like this at times.
2 :
Pay no attention to this nonsense. The future can't be predicted. Apart from the odd lucky random guess, people like Baba Vanga will always be wrong. Usually, their past 'correct' predictions don't stand up to any sort of scrutiny, having been made up or altered after the event they were supposed to predict. Anyway, only a few days to go before this one is proved definitively wrong. Another one bites the dust.
