I have a shopper's guilt problem. How can I overcome it?

I have a shopper's guilt problem. How can I overcome it?
I've just moved here from South Korea two years ago for an lucrative job opportunity that allowed me to make more money than I could ever imagine compared to the salary I was making back at home. I usually love to save money, but I do love to spoil myself sometimes with a few luxury goods but not to an excess. It was not until I came here that I was able afford such luxury goods and that is where my problem comes in. I went inside a watch store and I found this beautiful Rolex and I could afford it, though I keep believing that I would feel guilty wearing something so expensive, considering that the money could have went to the poverty stricken people back in my country, the people from my small town. It just brings back so many bad childhood experiences dealing with poverty. How can I overcome this so I can start enjoying my life?

if you can afford it, you deserve it. i too used to have these feelings coming from the ghetto and now making more money than the Pres of the US makes. i don't have these guilt feelings anymore

You worked hard and honestly for your money, so you shouldn't feel guilty. It's one thing if they had no opportunities like you had, but its another if they had the same opportunities you did and they didn't take advantage of them; in short, just know that you deserve every reward earned through hard work and honesty.

Relationship Decision?

Relationship Decision?
Hi Everyone, I am from Canada and my girlfriend is from Florida. We got together for one year when I went to school in Florida. When I finished my studies I was unable to obtain a work visa and had to move back to Canada. Due to the economy I was unable to get a steady teaching position in education (I'm a teacher) I moved to South Korea. The plan was to be in South Korea for a year and then go through the process of obtaining a fiancee visa. I just got a good job offer that would keep me here in South Korea an extra six months. It's a good opportunity and the money I would make would pay off all of my student debt. The problem is that my girlfriend is having a hard time with the separation and doesn't think she could handle any more time apart. Which I understand, as long distance is difficult. We had a plan for her to come here for a few months but now she is unsure and doesn't want me to be gone any longer. She doesn't want to get attached and then have to go through another 9-12 months of this. She supports me with my career but feels as though I'm putting myself ahead of us as a couple. She told me that if that's what I wanted to do that was fine but that she needs us to have a solid plan or she needs to move on. I view it like I have to get my career started because while my girlfriend is still in school I will be the one who is supporting us and I can't do that with debt and in a job market that is non-existent in my field. I'm putting pressure on myself to do what is necessary for us to be able to be financially independent and have a stable career for myself. She offered to come and teach with me in Taiwan next year, where we could both make good money, as a way to solve the problem of being apart. But I worry that she is doing that more so to be with me and not because it is a goal of hers. I worry that could lead to problems and she isn't aware of that. So basically we have decided to decide on what we are going to do. We'll either have a plan or we'll go our separate ways. I love her very much but I feel as though I won't be able to provide for us unless I am able to build up my work experience and have a steady income. Am I being selfish, placing myself before us as a couple? Or am I being realistic and trying to make sure that we are able to have the stability to make sure our plans are able to come to fruition? Advice? Thanks :)

i think that it is a little of both..but i can see that you are doing it for you and your future with your fiancee...and if it is meant to be then ya will find a way to make it work...i can understand where she is coming from..(at the time he was my boyfriend)my fiancee was over seas in Iraq and it was really hard for me and him...but i just let god in and he got me through it...dont give up!!!

I don't believe you're being selfish but rather looking at the bigger picture for the both of you..of course the separation will be hard and you will have to endure it for months..but during that time you will be gaining the stability to make your relationship last in the long run.. love takes sacrifice and if the both of you really love each other there is a way to get through it..and she will be willing to deal with the separation

how do you think on these crimes of my country ?

how do you think on these crimes of my country ?
(these are latest crime) in south korea, a 12 years old girl is raped by 31 years old man and he forced her to sell sex to other men. he met the girl via Internet chatting and he stolen very small money. but The court sentenced him to 3 years 6 months in prison. and the court sentenced a 20 years old man who murderd an 61 years old Physically Disabled man to 6 years in prison. he murdered the physically disabled man when he was middle school student. he said he murdered him becuz when he was young, the physically disabled man followed and surprised him. he murdered the physically disabled man with other two big brothers (both are 22 years old men). and they beated him to death. and the court sentenced the female mother who murdered her 2 months old female baby who has physical disaility on her face to 3 years in prison becuz the family didn't want her punished (they didn't want to penalize her. my english is not good sorry.. I don't know which sentence is good on it..) and she delivered herself to the police. and some media sympathized with that mother. and some expert said the society in this country tacitly allow to kill baby who has disabilities and people in south korea deny the existence of disabled person but the UN must the person who murdered a baby to over 10 years in prison. very serious and bad crimes are occurring in south korea everyears. but the judgment is very weird. always the rich people and criminals are happy. and the poor and lonely people are super crazy unhappy. and the most of the victims commit suicide everyears. and I saw the news about that the police kicked the chest of female who tried to see the face of criminal who murdered her 9 years old daughter in closed distance. and most of you have to know there is serious corporal punishment in every elementary, middle, high school in south korea. every child and teenage experience the violence at the school. and really many female child and teenage are raped and abused in this country .. there is no a thing to protect the children of poor people. and even I saw that the adults or teenage bullies abused the female child who is poor and the everyone keeps silent becuz the girl has no families and is not rich when I was child. and even I read the news about the 12 years old child is killed by the punishment of the football teacher at the elementary school on this weak. the problem is that the everyone and society thinks the corporal punishment at school is such a common sense. is the money really important than the life of most people ? and I don't understand why other country doesn't care of these serious problem in south korea. why no one saves the life and human right of children in south korea ? the everyone who is living in south korea is psychopath or money-crazy. and they really like to hurt and harass weak, poor people. I saw it really many times the bullies and gangs make teenage or child commit suicide. and really many children and teenage are killed by the teenage bullies. and even some people enslave the poor people and bring the poor people to some island (south korea has really many small islands.) and they work forever in the island. is this a country ? the teenage bullies are such a god in south korea. every schools have the serious teenage bullies or the everyone in the school are all bullies. even if they smoke at the school, the techers never care and even they smoke with the bullies. I saw that even the teachers harass the person with the bullies. they think the poor or weak people are animal or slave. I am not mad. the most people in here think same thing with me. and most people who have many money go out of this country and make child in other country.

Looking for a new teaching Job abroad!?

Looking for a new teaching Job abroad!?
I have been teaching in South Korea for 6 months now, my contract ends at the end of August. I trying to decide if it is best to resign my contract maybe to a different city or if there is another country I should look into. Sadly making and saving money is the most important since I have a lot of student loans. I have a BS in Elementary Education and a year of teaching! I have looked into getting a TEFl to help? Anyone out there that is making money somewhere else or knows of where I can go.... thanks

TEFL certification would help. You can take courses online and with a year of experience and TEFL certification you can get a better wage. You are in the right place if you want to save a lot of money(Asia). Although the Won is in the tank now I hope it will improve when your contract is up.
