What would be a good career choice for me?
What would be a good career choice for me?
I am currently a college freshman in my second semester and at this point, I am considering a change to my chosen major. My current major at this time is Biology. I don't know what kind of career I would like in biology which is what has me thinking about this. I would really like a job that would allow me to travel and to speak different languages. I would really like to live overseas if anything, preferably in South Korea. I also don't really care about the amount of money I could possibly make, but i don't want to struggle to live; I just want a comfortable, happy lifestyle. If anyone has any suggestions as to a career i should look into, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advanced.

Anthropology I don't know what kind of money you could make, but you will definitely have the ability to travel because anthropology is studying humans and cultures and such. If you like biology you can major in Anthropology with a biological emphasis. you should look more into it, if traveling is what you want to do.

Doesn't anyone realize that N. Korea's only reason for making nukes is to get paid for not making them?
Doesn't anyone realize that N. Korea's only reason for making nukes is to get paid for not making them?
That impoverished, starving country is boxed in by Japan, the US and China. (A good thing.) But their only recourse for drawing foreign capital to buy food is to be paid for NOT making nukes. They've proven they can do it and now, notice that talks are going on to feed them again. S. Korea started doing it again almost right away. Our currency changes have foiled their counterfieting of US money. That was a big blow. They can't feed themselves but they can produce bombs that the world will pay them not to use. If somehow, the two countries reunited and asked the US to leave, THAT would indeed be something to ponder. The South was always the North's breadbasket before they were divided. The North had the heavy industry and Uranium mines. The warmer South grew the food. It would be like having a fully militarized, nuclear armed, world power like 1940's Japan with one HECK of an attitude! Might be a preview of what China will become in 25 years. Their auto exports are up 466% this year.

You know I never thought of it that way and you could be right. That would explain Ahmadinejads big bluffs and then he just wants to talk. Big bluffs and then he releases his hostages to show how nice he is. He wants something for sure.

I see a bright future for you. Yes, that is why they did it. Lets face it, nukes in the hands of small countries are usually, useless. can't win a war with it, cuz the big boys will vaporize you in return. they cost a lot to protect. if you sell it, big boys will make you pay dearly over it. now as a barganing chip...then it is valuable. pay me this much and I will get rid of it.

Sure same as our govt pays farmers not to grow wheat so we can buy tainted wheat from China to kill pets. I wish I was a foreign country, I could sit at home all day and have the US govt pay my bills. But I'm a middle class American so I'm the one that gets to pay all these idiot countries millions while my govt gives my job away so some CEO can get his 30 million $ bonus and pay 600$ in taxes. REFORM!

That's nothing new to anyone who follows international affairs. Oh yeah,China will be a big bad superpower,hahaha,they've only had a few centuries to do so! I'm sure that now is the time,hahaha. Americans should be so scare't. 300,000,000 Chinese get food poisoning every year. That's like all of the USA getting food poisoning at once. With all of the blustery woo ha about China being so great it is still a backwoods 3rd world country that does things like kill 50,000 dogs because two people got bit by rabid wild dogs. India is another "world superpower". They proved that by throwing cow urine on school children. Nice!

In short: North Korea's nukes are for building a nuclear stockpile as a backup for when North Korea retakes South Korea and Japan. They are now talking because Bush has convinced China to freeze all of their cash and assets and accounts held in Chinese and most other banks around the world. Although this took about five years, Kim Jong Il has run out of money to develop his nuclear program any further and he cannot pay his creditors anything for shipping him any further nuclear technology. The food on his own table is getting sparse and North Korea's position is bad and Kim Jong Il is finally getting hungry himself.

A few nuclear weapons in the hands of KIM Jong Il would be folly to use against anybody because the U.S. (and others) would retaliate. KIM Jong Il does not want a war - what he wants is respect (yeah! like he deserves it!) and money from NOT making a bomb. In fact, the one test they tried was a failure - without sufficient nuclear yield to cause much damage. It is scientifically easy to design a nuclear bomb; the engineering is very difficult to actually make one that works.
